what really helped me was learning to drift, because i knew how to make the car slide i could avoid it and "feel" the car much better, so i could avoid spins before they even happen

What a SUPERB video, viperconcept. There are really not many Channels that are willing to share this kind of knowledge on how to be a better driver, and you are doing it ALL the time - and I therefore applaud you for doing that. Ever since joining KZread about 1 and a half years ago, my driving has probably improved 2 to 3 times what it used to be, thanks to drivers like you that are willing to impart their knowledge on to others. BLOODY WELL DONE, VIPERCONCEPT!!! ; )

11:00 A rare sight of viperconcept drifting on purpose. I'd say another useful tip would be to try to induce a few spins on purpose and trying to correct them. Theory is important, but reflex is "importanter" and there is no other way to learn reflexes than to practice.

There is a more effective way to prevent spins. Stop, park the car, shut your PC off and go cry in a corner. Works everytime.

Grats viper, best video so far since the new year
Hey viperconcept, I just want to say thank you. I have gotten so much better at racing games because of your lessons
Each video, I feel like the production quality gets better. I love the videos man
This is pure wisdom my friend! Thank you very much! I am going to watch this 90 times untill i get these things in my head.
This video was well put together. Excellent job Sir.👍
I'm so, so thankfull with this channel I learned soooo much stuff about cars here that I could find in this way on the internet in video format. Thank you so much
Helpful advices told easily to understand. I like these. Also, it's cool how you show different stuff in different games. Awesome
Nice work Viper - Keep going with all that stuff. Many tipps from your videos helped me to driver better and faster = more fun :) Thanks for investing so much time here !!
Thanks man! your videos are as useful as always, I struggle a bit to correct the car and always wondered how you do it so easily. Now let's put on some practice
Thx. Did not know to keep the trottle on to stop the spin. Keep up the content. This is how we learn ☺️👌🏻
Un video veramente utilissimo, come molti altri che, in generale, spiegano con esempi concreti e in modo relativamente semplice come comportarsi o come risolvere dei problemi. Grazie Viper!
This is a really great video! We need more of this!
On joystick (Gran Turismo 5/6 PS3) it was hard as hell to not lose control on a powerful racecar, so I usually shift to a much higher gear (5th gear while still going relatively slow) easier for me :p Without traction control btw
The first step of the “cure” also helped me to learn how to drift! Che genio che sei!
Thanks for taking the time to make these informative videos.👍
thank you so much Viper it was a major problem to me really thank you your are a truly masterpiece
not tham I am a racer or even a regular car driver, but I love the dedication you put in your videos
Excellent. Love watching you drive. Thanks for the video tips :).
Those tips for setups are very useful, thank you.
thanks a lot for your video!! you give me new hope in RWD cars.
Great Video as always and i am not even a racing game person. Cant remember which video made me sub you but i am always coming back for the entertainment and information :D
Congratulations on 100k subscribers!!!
Always excellent advices from you, very useful, thanks a lot...
Excellent video mate! Thank you
9:50 that isn't a spin cure, its a nice drift session... :P Haha thanks viper this helps me a lot, I keep spinning out in f1 2017, now I can start learning to prevent that from happening :)
Now i know correct suspension setup,thanks Viperconcept😀😀
Excellent instructions, like the video backed up with text also.
I tend to drive more spinning out of control than straight. Thanks, Viper!
You say you don't know how to drift, but... You're actually damn good at it.
Viper drifiting that Shelby like pro :v Good video m8
Great stuff and perfect timing for me. I have a lot of spins in PC2 Formula Rookie. I hope it helps. Thanks.
That intro is so classy, like it
Nice video, I'll remember this things if I'll ever have a wheel. my smoothiest way to drive with the keyboard looks just as the one you told as the wrong way to drive :)
Thx for this very good video Just started today in sim racing and its really usefull
Your videos are the best! Greetings from Brazil! Learning to be a better forza driver.
Ottimo lavoro. Complimenti!
good stuff. i hope you do more
The countersteering part is really helpful for beginner drifters
your content are simply unique.
Knowing how to drift in racing games are also good for correcting spins because you know exactly how much countersteer you need to not spin while also not snapping in the opposite direction
Yeah my main issue was racing line and exiting the corner. I could definitely use this. Sadly the racing game that taught me that racing line is Test Drive Unlimited 2. And I saw another KZreadr showcase what those cones are actually placed for. I felt like an idiot after that
WWOOO!!! Many thanks!! this is a real lesson! thanks dude!
This is how I react when I'm about to spin out with ciunter-steer in Forza 7's sim steering: Car's tail gets a little happy and swings around, I apply ciunter-steer but it makes it even more tail happy, so I gently brake to get it back on track, if that doesn't work then floor the brakes as "emergency brakes" and get back to the race while looking out for incoming racers.
Muchas gracias viperconcept
Fantastic video
I started to drive calm some years ago. It helped me soooooo much!!!! :D
Really useful, compliments.
Great tips!!!
Appreciate the lesson buddy :)
a simple shooting advice: it's better to set your camera at manual focusing at the beginning of 13:21, if you're using a digital camera. on a phone there might be a switch for that. anyway helpful vid!
Thanks a lot man! You really helped me!
Great vid, as always. Love the way you put things together with some precise titles instead of lots of useless talking. But you forgot the basic key (at least if you're using a decent wheel): listen to the force feedback. Many times is not necessary to countersteer, just straightening the front wheels can be enough. Try to push the steering wheel gently into the turns with the outer hand and feel the car's reactions, instead of fighting it rigidly or, even worst, pulling with the inner hand. Many will get surprised of how smoothly an oversteer can almost correct itself... ;) Keep the good work coming.
great tips!!
so helpful lesson mate cheers
Very useful 👍
Thanks for lessons mate cheers
I was on controller and just got a wheel, you can imagine my surprise having to re-learn every track and car ALL over again because of this
Yeah smooth driving is really the key. It ensures you don't upset the car's balance, no sudden weight shifts or the car suddenly jerking to a direction you didn't want, and therefore you avoid spinning.
A really nice video.
*insane video*
I can say that im a better sim racer because of your videos, keep it up.
Thanks for tip, will use it
Perfect lesson😉
Nice video!
Great vid Viper ! Yeah smoothness is the key ! Still working on my counter steering though... Just a question, can you, or someone, tell me what is the car you use on Tsukuba at the end (the red openwheeler) ? Thx and keep up the good work !
you have made the best video bro
Wonderful wonderful video
i love your videos, i love that is written, because i can read easy, english is not my language XD
I thought wheel base was the total ground area the car covered 👍 thanks for the update 👍🍻
Hello Viper! I got a guestion. When I'm racing on Project Cars 2 for the PS4, some players are using the same type of car that I'm using for example GT3 Skyline, and they are much faster than me. I assume they increase the gear ratio more towards acceleration (I experimented with that) but they are still much faster. What setups should I focus on besides gear ratio and tires? Thank you for all of your tutorial videos and keep up the good racing.
another way to save the spin is to lock the tyres hard enough for your car to face the direction you want, but it will have to be controlled, the harder you lock the tires the more likely your car will face the direction you started spinning from. But still try not to lock the tyres because of tyre wear, but if you are in the spinning process it most probably is safer for your race to lock the tyres then go to the pits and change them than if you wait for the spin to be over which most probably will take longer.
Waoh ! Tu as fait de sacrés progrès en drift ! ^^ A quand une vidéo spéciale avec la Mazda MX-5 de PC2 ? :D
viperconcept : How many times did this happen ? Me : *Yes.*
0:38 This happened to me many times in real life when I was getting familiar with a race kart. 30 hp on 80 kg with no electronic controls at all is no joke.
Thanks a lot man
Yay!Barhurst as teaching material!
Sometimes in ACC I am able to spin 360 degrees spin and recover. Other times on corner exit with my foot on the gas the front becomes very loose and I go off the track or hit a wall.
there is a problem that happens to me. usually, when I successfully made a stable setup, I try to drive smoothly, and I'm not satisfied with the time, and since I have already found a comfortable setup, I don't know what to do next to make the car faster around the track.
One problem I have on Pcars 2, but not at all on pcars 1, is spinning while cornering. So I will give it a try with your advices.
I remember in f1 2017, a racer bumped into my back rear wheel so to avoid spinning put, I managed to drift or powerslide in the corner.
Can u make a playlist named like "Viperconcept's Academy" and put there all those instructive videos? Thank u for such good content!!!
When I spinout I just let go of the gas button and try my best to regain control, and then I softly press the gas and tap it when I'm using a powerful car
