Rabbit Ings Country Park, Royston, West Yorkshire + Channel Update

A 3 mile walk around Rabbit Ings Country Park in Royston in West Yorkshire. A nice local area which has been converted from a former colliery site, the park is now a place for short leaisurely walks and to relax and admire the surrounding views.
I also made this video to update you on the future of the channel and to also give some shoutouts to my loyal subscribers who have followed and commented over the last 2 years.

Thank you Trekker, these videos are giving me a lot of inspiration at the moment, trying to get out and about in nature more given the current climate and also how many lovely spots we've got locally! So thanks for the inspiration and looking forward to seeing where you go next😊

Looking good hughesy! making these videos are a great way to keep on track with your weight! i keep meaning to do a bit of a walk, but i just keep putting it off! I bet it was cold sitting on that bench! Mate, just do your channel as a way to record your days out more than views and subs. like you said it was good to look back and remember some of those walks, and if bringing props are part of the fun, its not silly at all! Chilli sauce helps with your metabolism ! and wakes up the taste buds! Great vid and keep it up!

Hello again! Just found your walking series on my TV - via the Rabbit Ings video. Funny thing - I used to live next to there in Royston untill 1988. Rabbit Ings itself was a huge 'slag heap' for the old pit and Royston drift mine that came after and maybe the coke works over the road too (one building remains - rest now gone). The pit stack was great place for fun as a ten year old... those railway lines too there used to be 4 tracks- they used to carry coal and passengers. Not sure why the internet walk you had took you along the canal first... that part of the canal is probably the least scenic as its next to the houses. Its the middle bit, the two parts at either side are nicer, wider . The "muggers bridge" is pretty grim but beleive it or not a house used to be at the other side of that bridge until the mid 1980s - There was sewarage works at the other side of the lines and the house belonged to the water board and was occupied by a sort of warden of the sewage works. Rabbit ings was converted to a country park about a decade ago...... and now has a lot wildlife....... there's a lake with two swans and 4 signets if you follow the bottom path to the left from the car park . Speak soon!

Watching your videos made me get out and do more walking, always looked forward to seeing your videos, i am not bothered if the walks are interesting or not haha. I looked forward to watching and listening to you, with genuine down to earth funny commentary. Hopefully you continue to do so! Keep it up mate, have a merry christmas and keep trekking for 2021 👍🏻

One week cows, the next week muggers and trains. You are getting worse sean lol. They wouldn't mug you for your camera, they would mug you for your hat lol. That was brilliant, it reminded me of those early videos you used to make. I'm guessing this will be your last video of 2020, so I will wish you and yours a very merry and safe Christmas. Thank you for your kind words sean. :-)

😂 mate, i was genuinely a bit worried with those rough looking guys, there was absolutely noone around so i would have been a very easy target, thankfully nothing happened, they were probably more interested in scrap metal rather than my trusty camera 😀 Its funny how i mentioned about you giving me all those tips to grow the channel and for some unknown reason..this video has had over 300 views in 2 days...my videos usually take over a year to hit those levels 🤔 something strange but good has happened, i just hope this video isnt too boring that it puts people off watching the next one. Great to hear from you bud 👍 I am hoping for another video out before Christmas but if not then all the best and have a very merry Christmas 👍

Thanks for the shout out Sean, bless you. Yes, it must be a couple of years ago now since that day 🤔 Anyway, so you've had the hard word then? Lose weight! 😂 My husband has been watching his weight too, out on his bike when he's not walking with me. You look a lot better for it and not so out of breath, well done for the 7 kilo weight loss as well. This walk would have been so much better in the summer, sunshine makes things look different. It did look like a cold winters day, but it's always great to get out. So glad you're sticking with KZread, if you enjoy it what the heck, it's not about subscribers or the money... it's the enjoyment. And anyway, you always go somewhere different everytime; which makes me think I'll go there because it looked like an interesting walk. Did you finally do all those walks in that book? I'm afraid we didn't, sometimes it's finding the time 😂 I think I'll wish you a "Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year" now and let's hope 2021 is a better year than 2020 🎄⛄🎉☃️

I was just the same sean. I bought missen a bike about two months ago now, in that short time I have managed to cycle 30 miles to Esholt. You might know it as Emmerdale Farm. I walk between 10 and 15 miles and when i first got on my bike, it killed me. If you want to get fit sean, then i would suggest a bike.:-) It will give you more options too for your videos. I will help you all i can sean. inabit. Steve.:-)
