The Yorkshire Trekker - Thruscross Reservoir, Harrogate
A 4.5 mile trek around the property of Yorkshire Water at Thruscross Reservoir. This is a circular walk of the reservoir which starts and finishes at the large dam.
The walk is quite hard going at times in wet and wintry conditions but should be fairly easy on dry days.
Please take the advice from Yorkshire Water as they recommend good strong footwear, suitable clothing and plenty of provisions to get you round.
The walk is a mixture of woodland and moorland with paths varying from good shale to a bit of climbing amongst the woodland with no distinguishable path so prepare yourself for such sections along the walk.

Just love your videos glad to see you out and about. When you were standing next to waterfall you excitement was contagious I felt so happy for you. A great time for a walk almost have the place to yourself very tranquil but cold.

Thankyou Paul, i thought it was fantastic being so close to it, i am very easily pleased 😂 but at 47 years old, its great to bring out that mischievous child in me 😀 It was so peaceful around the reservoir, hardly came across anyone...was mostly just me and nature, absolutely fantastic 👍👍 Thankyou for watching and supporting Paul, really appreciated 👍

Aw thankyou, really appreciate the kind words. Such a shame you cant get to holmfirth yet, it is a lovely place. Hopefully maybe this year sometime you will be able to 👍 take care. I too am missing going up to the Dales to get in some adventurous walks, there really isnt anything close by that i havent done already.

I must admit that sheep dont frighten me as much now as they tend to mive away when you get close but cows and horses are my nightmare, theyre inquisitive, strong and bigger than me 😳😂 Must admit im weary of dogs too, especially ones that come bounding towards me nit knowing wether they want lick me or chew my legs off 😂

Just started watching your treks as my friend Tom Manney is a subscriber and we are catching up on some older videos. We have started walking together and separate and both have our own vlogs ( I'm just learning ) Tom does all different . Finding your treks a great help for ideas on walks and routes. Which book / guide do you use please. Stay safe , have fun x

Thankyou and i hope you enjoy them 👍. I do have two AA books full of walks but they are quite dated now so tend to go with the internet as I usually find them up to date. I just wish lockdown would end soon do i can get back out trekking to some more adventurous places. 👍 All the best

Another great walk Sean. You could have done with a walking pole, especially whilst your holding your camera videoing. So quiet and peaceful, not like the local walks where I live... everyone and their dog, along with joggers and cyclists are out and about! I'm hoping when all this is over things will get back to normal 😂 PS: You really should get a compilation video together of all your slips and trips... give us all a laugh 😂 Have a lovely Christmas and new year 🎄🎉👍

You know what, youve given me a great idea 😉👍 I do have a walking pole Mary, but i only got it to serve one purpose...to shoo off the cows 😂 , i didnt take it on this walk though, i forgot it 😩😀. I agree Mary, the local walks tend to be quite busy at the moment with people getting out throughout lockdowns, thats i enjoy these kind of walks so much, theyre out of the way and are so peaceful and relaxing. I was just going to ask you sean, whatever happened to your soup? You read my mind. Was a village flooded to make that reservoir Sean? It looks great. I love anything that has been abandoned. Mate, i was in my element on this walk, i loved being further afield, somewhere with something exciting to see. So yeah, i was very happy and dare i say it...lucky...lucky i didnt sprain an ankle or fall down, it was crazy at times, i couldnt help but laugh at myself but it is a miracle i didnt do harm to myself 😂 though my feet and knees were killing me at the end of it 😩.
