Mam, we live in Canada and follow your lectures closely. Hindustani sangeet ki shiksha shuddh hindi mein hi uchit prateet hoti hai. Kripaya hindi ka madhyam hi rakhen. Hame angrezi bhasha se koi bair nahin kintu Hindustani sangeet ko jitna hindi bhasha mein vistaar se samjhaaya jaa sakta hai utna kisi aur videshi bhasha mein nahi.

This is the most helpful lesson I have come across. My forefathers were taken by British to Fiji and I did not have access to classical music though I had interest in classical music. This is a great service to the Indian music.

I have a little understanding of ragas but I am not able to understand how different compositions based on one particular raag sound different. What makes them different if they are following all the rules of ragas-vadi and samwadi notes/nyasa swaras etc. Could you explain.

manivel sahayam Firstly the Sahitya (literature) of the composition have different bhav . And this is the beauty of our classical music that the same bandish presented by different artists or by the same artist everytime will sound different. For example if you give the equal set of flowers in equal numbers to different people the bouquet made by them will not look alike.

Thank you for such fantatstic lesson !!! is it possible to post the swar-sangati compositions, along with the video for later practice....and if possible few important practice lesson. Like me, many are trying to get to the deep of various ragas, we are able to understand but we dnt know how to practice them in correct and effective manner. This will be very helpful.
