To answer the question about how many rules that first story was breaking, I think it's 4. No garbage in eating area (MASSIVE nono, you can get shutdown instantly for that shit), locking an escape during fire (no just reason to do so. If you lock it, you need the staff to have access to keys), massive health and safety nono as OP's hands were sliced open (lawsuit~) and endangerment of the public (what if the glass cut customers? What if there was viruses or diseases?). The last one sounds similar to the first one, but the first is simply "unclean" while the fourth is "could be fatal" stuff. Also.... Vuvu-zah-las? Mate, it's Vu-Vu-Zay-Las. :P

And OP can't really use the "we all did things we're not proud of at that age" excuse either. Not all of us at nineteen followed through with malicious acts like that one. Sofia Vanesa this absolutely happens. Someone bought crab legs before and said it “tasted awful” and “threw it away” and got a refund. Costco is too lenient sometimes. Didn’t bring back the package or anything. Just brought the receipt and got a refund. Or someone bought bushes 3 years ago and they finally died...dug them up and returned them for a refund. Costco is truly wild. 🤦🏻‍♀️ but they’re won’t accept dirty undies 🤣🤣

So people returning used, eaten, or expired food is so common. Once when at the time I was working at customer service. An employee from another Walmart down the highway, only know this because she stated it meaning she cane to our store so hers wouldn’t have to suffer shrinkage and have a smaller bonus, can and brought back loads of expired meats whose sell by dates were dated for the November before! I told her while I probably can do the return for the non perishable items, she had like three boxes of them, the ten packages of meat since she has no receipt I couldn’t do anything for her. She stated, “well call you manager over while I shop so I can exchange my stuff, they won’t have a problem with what I’m doing.” I was rolling my eyes as soon as she went to go shopping, so I call the manger over the grocery section explained the story. 1. She had no receipt 2. Everything was expired from the year before (like 10 months expired at this point she had these sitting in her freezer for that long and expected a refund) 3. Stated she was a Walmart employee from another store and didn’t want to do the return there (for reasons that are common sense if you ever worked for Walmart) this angered him so much he only approved one box item bc the other two had damage to the packaging and told me if she had a problem with it to call him up again. She came back with her new items looking smug and I told her what he relayed to me. She threw a fit not believing me saying she knows a manager wouldn’t deny a refund (8/10 times they won’t bc you know complaints ruins manger bonuses) so I called him up again and watch there as he refused all of her items now and escorted her out lol The reason she did all of this was because she was going on a diet and needed healthier food lol.

Drew Gagneaux When I worked at a liquor store a few years back, I had a woman come in with an empty bottle of red wine claiming it “didn’t taste right”. We asked her why she drank the whole bottle and she replied “Well I paid for it, I wasn’t going to waste it” and she still wanted a FULL REFUND(This was a high end for our store and was close to $50 for the bottle). We told her we couldn’t refund because of the “taste” and she would need to contact the company, and she tried to say we scammed her. I still remember my manager pointing her to the door lol

Working as an independent distributor that sells and delivers food to grocery stores, returns have become a pet peeve of mine. Almost all major chains like walmart will accept a return, no questions asked, as long as its within that first 30 days. And you would be surprised by just how many people abuse this. People will buy your product, eat the entire package, RETURN THE EMPTY PACKAGE and say they didn't like it, and the stores will gladly give them a full refund. These people will then take that refund and buy a new package to start the scam over again and we have to buy the empty package back from the store through gritted teeth. So I'm glad that a Costco employee stood up against these scammers!

15:45 that's definitely a Rite-Aid. There's one that I always go to when I need my "candy rations" that we call the "shady rite-aid" which is a bit of a mess and has several things off about their memberships.

I used to work at a bakery and you would be suprise how often People have tried to get their money back because "I didn't like it" or "it didn't taste like i expected. One time an old Lady Even bought in a bread with mould on it, because she was unhappy it had gone bad.

People returning food that they've already eaten is incredibly common. At an old job, this lady once returned a bag of chicken wings from the deli that had been picked cleaned, nothing but bone left. She swore up and down that her family found it inedible and she wanted a refund. She made such a big stink about it that the managers gave it to her.

Well, there are reasons why you'd return the packaging and demand a refund. Mostly to do with defective food, like realizing it rotted before the expiration date and stuff like that. Obviously you'd throw that out, even if you're demanding a refund.

I had to do that yesterday to a customer who refused to wear a mask to come into my store. I simply asked if she could wear a mask and in my sweetest voice possible and she flipped out saying she doesn't have to by law, and asked to speak to the manager. I looked dead in her eyes and told her "hi.... I AM the manager" She got quite then said well the owner in the morning doesn't make me. Again I looked at her and said "lady he isn't the owner,I'm his boss and what he does during his shift is up to him but when I am here you MUST wear a mask" She got pissed and stormed out.... Like cmon lady don't be a Karen 😂

I work at a grocery store in the meat/seafood department. The return policies are extremely lenient which bugs me to no end, luckily i don't have to worry about handling returns in my department. That said, every time something is returned from our department we have to 'shrink it' through our department so i always know about a return. Of course that doesn't stop customers from coming to me first anyway to let me know 'your product is inedible'. Had an older guy come to my department with a bag of shrimp, this being one of those bulk bags of shrimp, telling me how disgusting it was. I had to bite my tongue cause less than 10 little pieces of shrimp were left in the bag alongside a pile of shrimp tails.I point him to customer service and go figure, the employees drop off the nearly empty bag in my department stating the customer had returned it. Long story short, customers return half eaten or mostly eaten product all the time and it pisses me off, but i have no power or influence over the system so i can't deny any of this blatant abuse of the system.

I listen to these while I play Skyrim, but may I say that these damn censorships make me day, man.

Oh my god, that first story. If that had been me, I would not have stopped at just dumping the bag of garbage on him. I would have taken him to court for everything he is worth, because, who knows what kind of diseases or infections you could have gotten from getting cuts on your hands from unsanitary broken glass and random garbage.

A friend of my daughter worked at the CS desk at Costco. She had a woman return a VERY LARGE bottle of wine saying after drinking the next day she had a horrible headache and felt nauseous. (I think this is called a hangover) She had to give the lady a refund.

The swing story reminds me of something that happened when I was around 14. We lived next door to a lot with two homes. Drunks lived in both homes - a horribly cranky old man and his wife lived in the home very close to ours. And a young alcoholic man lived behind the old man’s house. The old man hated me. He threw rocks at my little dogs. He complained when I climbed our trees because he assumed I was spying. I was hardly able to play in my back yard without being confronted by the old man. He called himself ‘Irish McCabe, the meanest son-of-a-b-- that ever lived’ and did a great job living up to his name. One early morning, knowing that the old sot and his wife, whose window was about 10 feet away from our basement window, would undoubtedly be suffering hangovers, I decided to ‘entertain’ them with my brother’s hi-fi. I opened the basement window, put a Native American stomp dance record on to play - full blast. The shrieking next door immediately followed. About 15 minutes later, the doorbell rang. It was the cops. I was mortified when my parents came to get me so I could talk to the policeman. Turns out the drunk in the little house behind the old man and his wife also had a hangover. He called the police on the old man and his wife because their screaming and yelling disturbed him. I didn’t even get in trouble. The revenge was delicious, but I never did it again.

I'm not on reddit. But i'm assuming that the sub is rarer than prorevenge, since nuclear revenge is something that doesn't happen very often. So, maybe he still haven't got the quite enough material

I work retail, we had a lady try to return on small piece of a large sheet cake saying that it tasted bad. That is just one time, they will try to get away with anything.

I was at Wally world and for one reason or another I had ended up in the returns line. I'll never forget the lady in front of me trying to return a bag of cereal without the box or bag the cereal had come in. Just a big ziplock bag and arguing that the box was damaged so she tossed it out. ... she got a refund. :(

Omg Rslash one time at my work (like a year or two before I was hired so just over 5-6 years ago) some guy bought a prime rib roast, cooked it, ate it and then returned the bones and got a full refund, I dont know if policy was changed after that but when I heard the story I was floored

Unfortunately, I don’t have Reddit, but I have my own petty revenge story. (If you actually read this, my sister is usually pretty cool, so you don’t have to use your entitled voice) So, my family has 2 pure bred German Shepherds who are about 5 years apart. One day my sister decided that she wanted to teach the youngest (4 in a month or two, and Yugo[is that spelling right?] always makes me think of him) to howl only when she howls. (Keep in mind we had mostly taught him not to howl) Her mind frame was “He’ll only howl when I’m howling!” And when I try to protest about how he is howling in the middle of the night and waking us up, and she’s most definitely not howling, she responds with “Well he’s still learning!” After him howling for multiple nights in a row, my parents and I were fed up, so my dad told me, in front of her, “If that dog howls again in the middle of the night, punch her. Don’t hit her face, but her arms or chest. If you get up and out of bed, clearly it’s gotten out of hand.” As sisters, we often disagree. Because of this, I gladly agree and that night, what do you know, he started howling. I was still awake, so I stormed in her room, ready to (lightly) pounch her. By the time I open her door (we are across the hall from each other), she had almost opened it herself saying “Ok! I’m taking care of it!” I laugh and tell her I really was going to pounch her (I was) and go back to my room. That was today and he immediately shut up, so hopefully it’ll work!

I think I know why the landlords didn't want the extra bits added on by the tenants. I don't know the full details, but it's my understanding that a landlord is required to keep up certain conditions so that a place is livable, and arrange for things to get fixed if it's not. If it wasn't broken by the tenant, the down payment can't be used, and the landlord has to get it fixed themselves. ACs, phone lines, partitions and all that other helpful stuff, would have been up to the landlord to maintain

Yes and no. They each got a big bag of candy, sure. They also each got a big bellyache, big mouthful of cavities (because can you really see Karen getting them to brush their teeth?), and... worst of all, a BIG sugar rush during the movie. The ones I really feel sorry for are the other movie-goers!

4:28 what you did was wrong but what your boss did was far worse, making employees do intentionally dangerous tasks the cause harm is not only bad for business but illegal, as in OP could've sued her boss for worker's compensation and it's also illegal to work under the influence of alcohol dispite owning the restaurant according to the FDA, carrying a thin trash bag of broken glass without ppe or easy access is a HIPAA violation makes me wonder how this asshat is still running or maybe the BBB caught wind of the incident and was under investigation, one could only imagine
