#RLBurnside - Live 1984
From "R. L. Burnside with Johnny Woods (Live 1984, 1986)" DVD
R. L. Burnside (November 23, 1926 - September 1, 2005) was an American #blues singer, songwriter and guitarist. He played music for much of his life but received little recognition before the early 1990s. In the latter half of that decade, Burnside recorded and toured with Jon Spencer, garnering crossover appeal and introducing his music to a new fan base in the punk and garage rock scenes.

That guitar smoked a cigarette after he was done with it.
That rhythm on the first song is incredible. People complain about KZread but it has definitely enriched my life ❤️🎸🎸
"it looks like an easy music to play..on the surface, then you think...how are these cats doing this"....Keith Richards.
One of the most underrated blues musicians ever. A true legend
No fluff, no fancy electronics, just rhythm and soul.
Pure music in its purest form. Gorgeous rythm and a voice that cries out dispair. A simple guitar and a big talent make the difference.
That vocal inflection he uses at the end of a phrase, the shuffle, the phrasing. It’s all pure gold. RL Burnside should have a national holiday in his name.
Need no heater fireplace by my bed woman I got keep me cherry red - best delivered 2 lines ever
Another one of KZread's little treasures, this.
Can't seem to get enough of this Cat 😺 !
I was lucky enough to have seen R.L. live back in 1997 in a bar in Oxford Ms. He had a four piece electric band and brought the house down. The word on the street was when Mr Burnside was in town it was not to be missed and that was the truth!
The most underrated smile, you could tell he loves what he's doing!
Never heard of R L Burnside and glad Ive now discovered him. Excellent ! 👍
The more you watch the better he gets.
This is the blues right here
He was born like this. Blessed. I'm glad and honored crossing on the same bridge between centuries as this fellow. Great musician.
Laid back, total groove, no gun slinger attitude. How beautiful he was.
Such an infectious smile! The dude was a genius
That goofy smile made me smile every time. This guy is golden. So genuine!
