A popular device used for quotation and storytelling.
This began on the *chan imageboards, where quoting text places a Less or Greater than symbol in front of it, turning it green. This effect can also be done manually. Before long, this feature was put to innovative use. When quoting another post, greentext is frequently used for summary, criticism, and ridicule. Its other major use is storytelling, in which a lengthy story is told through fragmentary statements in greentext.
Greentext became highly popular for both of these functions due to its convenience. When quoting a post, it is easier to summarize than to respond in full. When telling a story, stringing together sentence fragments is a grammatically easier alternative to prose composition (it also makes for lighter reading).
This feature has become so widespread that it is sometimes used outside of imageboards (eg KZread comments).

Alternatively, it could also mean that the entire rest of the universe is just supremely unlucky.

@@sbritton1313 we are using up all our u luck there. So we gain good luck elsewhere.
This statistician may of had an easer time if someone pointed out to it that Humans have in (almost) every village, town or city temples dedicated to the Goddess of luck, in every station and ship where there are Humans there will be prayers and offerings to Her, anywhere there are more than one of us (and sometimes when we are alone) wagers will be made, entreaties will be spoken and Lady Luck will be called upon to oversee our efforts. We even have whole cities dedicated to her. With this much attention being heaped upon her is it surprising that she smiles on us?

@@anthonymedina9425 Often enough it does. But as long as someone else was able to witness what went wrong (or adequate notes were taken) and try again, then the advancement is still made.

When you're rolling a new character and pick Wisdom as your dump stat and pump all your points into Luck.
ah... I was waiting for this facet of the "human are space orcs", the reality warp power of the Noosphere gestalt
The Puppeteers came to the conclusion that humans were lucky as well but they went on to f*** with it to make us more lucky

Devs: Humans moved to death world. Human's home world placed in radioactive star system. No rush barrier placed around human system. End patch notes.

What can we say? Lady Luck loves us, and we love her! Heck, we have built entire buildings and cities to her! Bless Lady Luck!
Just thought that random luck might be decidet by gods, and if different speacies in this universe have different gods, then the human ones just went and spartan kicked every other god out of the controle room for reality. Or that is my little altered universe of this story.

The author's name is made from the German words for fir trees "Tannen" and bananas "Bananen" (curiously spelled with two "n", why ever), it's pronounced "Tan-nen-ba-na-nen", and means "bananas that grew on a fir tree" if you interconnect those two words into one! Keep in mind, the German "a" is pronounced like the a in "Tuba" not like the one in "Hand"!
