This was shot in Madison Ga 1991. I was on the lighting crew. We watched them play this 30+ times… amazing lighting design produced by Robert Roth and company. I was in charge with loading the igniters on the Super Trouper spotlights. Every take was chilling.

A touch of genius.

What a great video. I keep watching it because it is addictive!! What a great video!!! You don't see this anymore.

I remember the first time I heard it... I stopped still and couldn't believe what I was hearing... It instantly became my favorite song...to this day when I hear it, it takes me back to that day and makes me smile

Me too. I heard it on the radio riding to the beach with a good friend of mine and his parents. I was 11 years old so it had probably been out less than a year. It was a hot ride with no a/c.

Heard a gillion versions of this song, this is absolutely the best one and Bill Berry is a super underrated drummer.

Agreed. I went to an Anastacia concert last year & was blown away by original music and a voice that could be heard outside the venue, I'm sure. So I would give every gig a try & see what happens. REM 3 times here in Ireland. '95, '99 and '03.

This sounded so fresh and incredible at the time. Although REM didn't tour behind Out of Time, they did cross the world promoting the album and played any number of promotional shows. At all of the promotional shows, Bill Berry was basically playing Bongo/Conga type drums. Every version of Losing My Religion I heard on every bootleg and traded tape I could find was sedate. Beautiful, yes, but sedate. It was great to have the kick of a full drum set behind the song again. Just great.

This is the best thing I’ve ever seen and heard in my life. Lucky are those who have seen it live ❤️ Great! Endless love!

May I suggest Coming Back To Life by Pink Floyd? This is my favorite rem song. So many ppl get hung up on what the song REALLY mean.. Who GAF? It's art meeeeaaaannnn. It means what it makes you think of. For example I love Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night. Reminds me of a Cold Lonely Night. My friend Bob however, sees aliens and tadpoles and crap. Weird. I seem to have wondered a bit.
