Quirky 6th Avenue

Take a walking tour of 6th Ave Business District in Tacoma. This quirky little neighborhood is fun and colorful and a great place to live. Off the main street, there are quiet neighborhoods with cute houses and apartment buildings. Catering to the younger set this place always places to go and things to do. We always stop and get a giant donut at the Legendary Donut shop and Jazzbones is a favorite venue in town for local musicians. They also host many special events.

I really like seeing towns where the old historic districts and buildings are preserved. They really don't make them like they used to. Cute area. Thanks for taking us. 😊👍

The old building I showed with the ballroom on the second floor has had many former lives. Last fall there was a fire on the ground floor and now it is being offered for sale. It will be interesting to see what it's next life will hold. The blue building that now holds the Crescent Gift shop used to be a movie theatre that my husband remembers fondly. This area has always been a fun family friendly place. One of my favorites. Thanks for watching.

That really looks like a fun place. They've obviously done a lot to make it that way. Seems like every time an area in St Louis gets rehabbed and some fun places move in, so evetually does the crime and ruins everything. I love the cute little shops. Hmmm suddenly I want a donut. Thanks Granny!

This place has always maintained it's friendly vibe and is still a nice place to live and have fun. One of my grandsons has an apartment near the donut shop. Thanks for watching.

Looking at online maps, Southern Kitchen is still there, which brings back memories for when I worked in Tacoma.

At the very beginning of the video, we are stopped in front of the Southern Kitchen. It's to the left of us at that stop light. It's still keeping very busy and the last time we ate there it had a full house. Thanks for watching.

We love keeping an eye on the activity on 6th Ave. We don't often go to farmer's markets since we buy most of our produce at Sterino's Farm Market in Puyallup. If you've never been there it's a great place for fresh, high-quality produce. They will be opening back up March 29th.

Legendary doughnuts in Tacoma ? Now I'm curious, is it addicting as they say it is if you've eaten there ?

Need you ask? I picked up a couple of apple fritters while I was there and they were yummy. We try to stay away from places like that, but once in a while we relent and splurge a little. My daughter and grandkids love the place and go often. Thanks for watching.
