Oh, and I also wanted to mention that my mother & I always loved to go out & eat Chinese food. But now she is 83 years old & bed bound with Alzheimer's. She would often ask me for some of her favorite dishes. That's how I discovered you. And when she eats it, she will say thank you for going to the restaurant & picking it up. She thinks that I ordered it & not made it. So thanks for giving me the gift to make my Mother happy.

Lovely. Keep up the good work. I have always respected the Chinese work ethic. When I was young my best friend was Chinese and he was the hardest working person I new. He was always up early helping his family before school and after school he helped in the market gardens then did homework before bed. He always achieved great results through hard work and was always polite to everyone. The whole family contributed to the community. New Zealand.

It was so nice to hear your story. It is obvious you love cooking & teaching. You don't have to go to school if you have passion & dedication. You are a great teacher, explaining step by step, the reasons why, showing the product's you use (which is so helpful when shopping) & offering alternatives. I am also enjoying learning how to cook chinese. Because nobody ever showed the real way to cook it. Only the Americanized way. If you wanted Chinese for dinner you had to go out. Know I can create authentic, yummy Chinese cuisine! The Asian store lady always smiles at me. I just show her a screenshot of an item you used & she goes & gets it for me. Please continue your great recipes. Don't stress out on perfecting them. And YES to a cookbook!

Please, please... put many many recipes of traditional Chinese fermented foods in your cookbook. I love them and have realized that many Chinese recipe books, for westerns, don't include homemade versions of these foods and instead direct readers to stores. I really enjoyed knowing more about you, you seem to be so kind and peaceful.❤

I really love that you explain not only the how in what you're doing but more importantly the why behind what you're doing. This is a sign of a very good teacher. That is the reason for the 1M + subscribers. You make it easy to learn how to cook all these sumptuous recipes. You are very straightforward and honest, for example, you tell your viewers that a certain ingredient can be expensive, you offer substitutions, and you even once remarked a very honest opinion that you will not repeat a recipe and would rather buy them outside... I believe that was the 5 day process rice dish :) I am very happy and excited to watch your subscribers growing. Though, I cannot be a patreon subscriber, I make it a point to watch all your videos and give them a thumbs up, hoping that that way, I am able to help your channel. All the best and more power to your channel!!!

Cooking has always been part of my family life. My great grandfather came from china around 1900. And as far as i know my grandfather and his siblings worked by selling/cooking chinese foods. And so did my father, we opened chinese food at our house. I learned cooking just by watching him cooks like a pro 😄 I like to watch your video because i feel it is the original recipes from the land of my ancestors. Though you said you never go to the culinery school, but i believe experience made you cook like a pro. Just like my dad. Congratulation for your wedding. Wish you all the best. 😘

Hi there, I am not Chinese but am Asian and do not live in China though I reside in a country with a strong Chinese population. My partner is Chinese. The perfect crispy pork belly, or Siuyoke in cantonese, is highly prized and quite elusive to the home cook. To taste the best, you must visit highly rated restaurants that focus almost entirely just on that. Standards are incredibly high. So I do understand though she has a good recipe, she sought to perfect it even more. I daresay perfect crispy pork belly is of cultural significance in Chinese society. Personally to me a very good crispy pork belly is better than the best steak you can find :)

The television show, which is broadcast on PBS in the USA titled "America's Test Kitchen," which is often abbreviated as ATK, uploaded here on KZread their recipe for crispy pork belly and I only mention it here in the hope that perhaps they have a helpful technique for the home cook as they (ATK) strive for perfection too. I've never had crispy pork belly though, so I am the least qualified person to say what is good or bad, but I just thought that "two heads are better than one" right?

I am seriously going to master your recipes - one at a time. I started making dumplings because they are the “toughest”, I think. You made it look so easy and I always look forward to weekends where I can practice folding and crimping the dough. Lots of love and all the best from the Philippines. 🤗🫕🥟🍜🍲🍤🥡🥢

You really are a fascinating person. You have such an instinctive way of understanding food, no wonder you're so good at this! Don't let the pork belly get you down, everyone has that one thing that beats them. Have another go at it when you feel ready.

I never thought I would learn to cook Chinese food. You are an amazing teacher, and make things very easy to follow so we can serve a dish we are proud of. Whatever brought you here, I'm so glad you stayed. Best to you and yours.

Congratulations on getting married! I am thrilled about your cookbook, what I love about your recipes that you talk about in this video is how each of them carry certain knowledge about certain ingredients or cooking methods. Not only do I get to enjoy a great meal but I learn something new from you. Thank you ❤️
