Oi Bridges CHAMPIONS AGAIN CHAMPIONS AGAIN CHAMPIONS AGAIN OLE OLE🤗🤗
My first trip to Belfast, we went into a bar and my friend said "Get the beers in" so I walked upto the bar and said "5 pints of lager please". The bartender stopped and stared at me. Then he said "We don't serve the British in here". I froze. I turned to look at my friends and they were all laughing like hyenas. I turned back around to the bartender and he said "Sorry yer friend set you up, 5 pints yer say". Bunch of fannies.

So funny! I grew up in Belfast during the troubles and I love people taking the piss, Billy Connolly was brilliant at it - even tho it was wild we had the best childhood, I think living through it made us a bit different, more together and resolute. I'm glad it's behind us (mostly) and the next generation can really start to push on for a more togetherness that we just never had. Protestant and Catholic living side by side would be a dream come true, still a long way to go but the times are changing.

I worked in Northern Ireland in 1985-1988 and never saw as much as a fight in a pub!! Apart from one time around April 86 we were selling aerial photographs at a border town called Clady...at 9.30 we were in the spar shop at the side of the army border crossing at 9.40 the place was blown sky high...but was still some of the best years of my life and still keep in contact with some of the best people I have ever met 👍🛎

Funniest comedian going
I have always found 80s retro style funny because having lived trhough the 80s remember it being called the decade style forgot at the time. Kevin brings up how it could be even more absurd brilliantly. Just been on a thread talking about how there shouldn't be a limit to what can be the topic of a joke, because we need to remember our history and have how ridiculous some of it was hammered home. Thos thinking from this I am trying to belittle the stuggles leading to the IRA, not even close. But I think anyone would say we are better now they have disbanded.

@@sandwich2473 I think the 80s was supposed to be different because it was those adopting the fashions saying it. As always I reserve the right to be wrong. I found the socks thing in the 80s strange. A man could wear 1 pink sock without comment if the other was a differnt colour, but 2, that was not good. Yet socks were still sold in matching pairs.
