Question 51: Do Christians who die in willful sin go to hell?

Michael Pearl answers a question from a viewer: I watched a KZread video about a man who had a near death experience, and saw lukewarm Christians who went to hell for their sins that they had not repented of. They said it was due to not abandoning willful sin. What do you say about this idea?

He was probably in hell as well which is why he could see others (like him) going to hell. I think we should quote Matthew 7:5 when responding to that person, "first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye." 😇

You shouldn’t be worrying. If you have known sin that you refuse to repent of that proves unrepentance. Repentance unto good works and good fruit accompany salvation. Todays gospel lacks the need for repentance. It’s not optional. God gives peace and perfect peace when the souls truly repents of all known sin and His love fuels the soul with joy. Either worry or peace. Fruit to root. Up your expectations towards repentance. Give no room to make excuses that it’s ok to not repent of something you know is wrong.

I'm so glad you guys are still actively in ministry - making videos, answering questions, giving advice, etc. My husband and I received a set of your books as a wedding present from some missionaries 12 years ago. 7 years later we started having kids and decided to read you book - Train up a Child. It was the old set, with the sketch horse & Buggy amish covering - i would NEVER have bought or read the book if it wasn't given to me by such sweet people on such an important day AND if their children hadn't turned out so good. I was SO glad i read it! It's been pivotal in our parenting and we get comments ALL THE TIME about how well-behaved our children are as a result! Also, I'm reading a book Debi co-authored about being the hidden help meet and it's reviving me and my marriage in an amazing way. I had no idea you guys were still going strong. I'm so happy you are and that you've adapted to this new media channel- it's the best way to reach this generation with the practical truth God has entrusted you with! Praising the Lord for you!

Belief and being sealed by the Holy Spirit is a one time event. You cannot lose your salvation, otherwise, as the Bible says, God would be denying Himself. This is because the Holy Spirit is living within you. Anyone who was truly saved, believed on the Death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, alone, for the forgiveness of sins, is saved forever.

I think the question was that if a someone got "saved" one day and continued to be a fornicator, adulterer, murderer, et al, will that person go to heaven. The confusing thing about something like this is the understanding of the word "faith." Jesus Christ didn't die so we could get a free out jail card to live as the people in the world do. Whenever the words being in Christ were mentioned, it was followed by being a new creature. Nowhere in the Bible does it ever state that heaven is for those who are no different from pagans.

Yes,and on the flip side of that it's not anything that you do or don't do(except rejecting Jesus) that will keep you out if heaven, however whatever rewards you may have had will be less or more no idea what could be more rewarding than leaving earth but it's probably spectacular, the reason it's easy you see it like this is because we see life in a linear way,it's one continuous line to an end,God sees your life in every possible choice you could ever make every deed you will ever do,and STILL will choose to forgive everything from before and after,to God time is being created and ended.

The idea that you think a saved individual wouldn’t fall to those sins is a clear indication that you think being saved means perfection! Which it does not. Although one may be fornicsting after being saved, it’s the intentions that person has that determines their salvation. A fornicator that repents and wants to not be a fornicator is completely different than a fornicator that doesn’t care what god says about it

We hold onto the faith, not to the law, for salvation. If Jesus died for your sins, He died for every one of them because He took on the full wrath of the law on the cross (Galatians 3:13). So, if one believes fornication sends you to hell, that means Jesus cannot cover that sin. It means avoiding fornication saves you.

@@KREW--hl2bd repenting of our sins is not a work. As long as We put our faith in Jesus and his death on the cross for our payment of our sins and his resurrection to life. Jesus said repent or perish. So, repenting of our sins to God is critical for receiving forgiveness for them otherwise everyone on earth would be saved if they didn’t need to repent and choose to turn to Christ for their salvation.

Yes Jesus died for all sin His sacrifice and blood in an atonement for ALL sin. Jesus knew the sin He was dying for, He saw men would be child molesters as He carried that cross and He still kept going. Jesus didn't say Oh wait some of these sins are too disgusting for me to carry, I can't forgive that let Me get on outta here... but No Jesus knew every hidden sin and died was buried and rose for Justification for All sin. Lust, divorce, murder, people having sex with dolls and objects, the nastiest sins you can think of Jesus died for it all. Avoiding these things doesn't get you saved believing in the sacrifice and the Blood of Jesus is your saving Grace. God knows we're gonna have struggles But we have been justified by Blood, washed. We avoid all these things because the bible says now that you have received Christ, walk in Him.

The thought of Lord Jesus saying he never knew me is the worst regret anyone could hear . Irreversible / done deal . Torment for eternity . I believe all of Lord Jesus words , teaching and instructions are perfectly just and fair and true . ( of course ) . I’m sick and tired of my willful sins . I think I know what the fear of God is ! There’s a Difference between unintentional sin and willful / deliberate sin .Be aware of both (from experience) Bible says , God doesn’t strive with man forever . Lord Jesus says He will never forsake us , but we can forsake ourselves and lose our salvation that’s Been provided . We shouldn’t take salvation for granted . We should obey and repent of our unintentional sins as they occur . Willful sin has to stop if we’re honest . Race the good race . It’s a matter of true love for our God ,( Father ), or not . True love for our Lord Jesus who suffered and died for our sins to be forgiven . ( paid for, for our sake ) . ( I’m thankful ) “ all my own opinion “. ( Bible scripture influenced ) Thank you . And God Bless .

Some people say that if you sin “willfully” or on purpose that this proves you are not saved. What they end up doing is explaining away their sins and lowering the bar of God’s perfect standard.

Almost 4 years ago today I became a widow at the young age of 64. I think it was still young. It was the midst of COVID so I was on admin.leave. The months to follow turned into struggles that I had never had to experienced alone. Hurricane, new roof, broken trees needed to be cut professional, water leak from a stupid vinyl hose from toilet to wall..? Come On Now! What next? I realized the upkeep that is required for my wee bitty lot in the city was quite an undertake. I had put in a retirement day at work for June age 65 '2021. I am calmed down now not trying to send a plea of a silly girl. Only wanted to say WISH I could have had the opportunity to give you a listen back then. But I have only just found you recently just before Easter 2024. And it has been a blessing to me! Yea we are not that in-tune on some smalls. But big picture says you are A-Okay. Where were you 4 yrs ago when I was learning I am stronger than I knew... Perhaps God was learning me on his power to keep me going and carrying on. There is Church and Jimmy Swaggart on my free antenna TV. But you have gravy for my grits & potatoes & biscuits. You make me search the word. Thank You!

I love your wisdom and really you go a great job overall, brother. I have to say though that I really would recommend no one talks to Satan...handing them over is basically how God describes giving people over to their lusts for the degrading of their bodies with one another in romans 1 except this is the believer version. The church is essentially to let them go their own way because as Jesus prescribed if at three rebukes they don't listen, cast them out and consider them as a gentile or taxcollector. I don't think you can find anywhere believers are to converse with Satan in such a manner. That's an interpretation. Only time we are to talk any where near the direction of Satan is to call out lies, proclaim Scripture as Jesus answered Satan in the desert to thwart those lies, or to cast out demons.

I've heard people say the only time they ever sin it's only by accident. Stupid!!! I'm not saying we should go ahead and have a big sin celebration, heck no. But the thing of "only by accident", gimme a break.

I am confident that He who began a good work in you, will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. There's a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof is the ways of death. Trust not in your own understanding, but trust in The Lord Jesus Christ the Righteous. Awesome video and thankful for it.

If you are born again. no sin condemns you. All sin, past, present, and future are forgiven. 1 John its says a man born again cannot sin, which in context means the new man/spirit is perfect as Jesus is perfect. All sins after being born again are of the FLESH.

In regard to commenting on your shirt at the intro of video: (1), My dad is 90 and will wear the same clothes over and over till they get holes in them. The reason is he says is they are “comfortable “. (2). This is supported by the saying that people wear 10% of their clothes 90% of the time (the other 90% rarely get used).

I struggle with this a lot, often heartbroken by my sin and being an addict, I have a hard time getting clean and I try and pray almost every day to turn from it. But I'm physically weak. My question is; what about Jesus saying we have to be perfect? And that those who sin do not know God? Or there is a few scriptures about this topic, and so this kinda confuses me. Oh Lord, I need your divine intervention again in my life.

I believe the question is If a person is living in a adulterous relationship and knows better, and he is sinning willfully, does there remain no more sacrifice for his sins per Hebrews 10:26? I know the context of how and to whom it was written, but wouldn't the biblical principal apply to other willful, deliberate choices of continual sin?

People that believe you can lose your salvation, are saying they are 100% perfect 100% of the time. If this is true, Christ didn’t have to go to the cross. It’s not WORKS, it’s grace and a gift from God. Now, God will discipline you if need be. But, your soul is always saved.

What about passages like 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 and Galatians 5:19-21? Do Christians go to hell if they live in these sins or are these passages just identifying those who are not born again?

Great points Matt, that is exactly what those verses are talking about. It’s those that have not been born again. Continue to read to verse 10, that is where born again Christians are mentioned. “BUT you were washed…”. Sin takes us to Hell by its nature, Jesus paid for it all on the cross
