The more I get closer to the Lord the more I'm conscious of my sins, even of those actions I deemed "Okay" in the past. It humbles me to know that God loves me in spite of my sins against Him. Thank you Father 🙏

God calls you to repent. That needs to follow becoming conscious of your sins. You have to agree to say "no more" to anything that you know is not and was never "Okay" for God (all sin). God's love never means that He condones ongoing sin or will spare someone who goes on sinning, knowing right from wrong and keeping on choosing to do wrong. It's really black and white what God expects from each one of us who wants to live for Him. James 4:7-8 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. You need to repent to get your past sins forgiven and start fresh on a relationship with God that you will live in submission to Him out of love for Him. In other words, you need to love God back and be converted from being disobedient to God and sinning to being obedient to God and living a godly life as the grace of God empowers you to (Titus 2:11-14). John 14:15 If you love me, keep my commandments. Peace to you!

Exactly how I feel. Isn’t that amazing how God work in such a “pattern” in his children’s life? I find this pretty incredible. Sometimes I look at things I used to be so chill about in the past, but today not anymore. Praise the Lord of my soul, Jesus, for His work in our lives.

Admittedly, this scripture had terrified me at various times in the past. I mean anxiety stricken hopelessness. I really appreciate this explanation. I hesitated to listen but I'm glad I did. Most of my struggle with the idea of the scripture was that I was relying on my own righteousness instead of Christ's. So it made the gospel a burden to me rather than a blessing. Thank you Jesus for being my strength and my perfection.

Obedience is better than sacrifice it’s just harder to obey, keep fighting against sin in your life and one by one (even though it sometimes takes a while) they will fall away, I find DAILY repentance is key

When you sin, however grievous it may be, go to your secret place and with your mouth (normal conversational tone) confess your sin openly to God and ask His forgiveness and if it is the case that in reality you love a particular sin(s) that you keep falling into, face up to this in yourself and confess this fact with your mouth to the Lord (he will not beat you up and any such fears are from the Evil one) and ask not just for forgiveness but also for a work of God in your life to help you come to see that what may seem pleasant and attractive/seductive is really ugly and dark so that you ask the Lord to take it away (repentance). Don't try to see things as they are in your own strenght / mind's eye, you have to have a revelation from the HS as to how God sees things and when you do you'll want to be rid of them. If you have indulged in sins to a deep extent (especially sexual sins or sins with drugs or both) you may have to seek the Lord about these things more than once or even many times until you know you are clear and if the Lord delivers you will know that you are clear. Don't rely on your ability to control these things yourself in your own strength but be honest with God AND yourself about these things. When Jesus died on the Cross he deal with all of humanity's sin but He dealt with it not you and we all have to get to a place of honesty with ourselves as well as with God on all matters of morality/sin. He loves you and wants you to lean on Him and when you are tempted call to Him for help to flee but if you fall then do as I suggest above and restore the relationship with God and if you repeatedly fall into the same sin the be honest with yourself and God about this sin. If the truth is you love a particular sin(s) stop trying to overcome it in your own strenght but rather confess your love of the sin(s) to yourself and God - God can't deal with you (or anyone else) unless you are completely honest with Him and yourself as to anything(s) that plague you. I hope this helps and that you confess things to God and reject any condemnation that is from the Evil one and not from God. Conviction of sin by the HS is not condemnation - these are very different things.

We all sin every single day without fail even if it's just a thought it's a life long battle against sin just keep trying if you're trying he will no and if not well...

Never underestimate God's mercy ... and never overestimate His mercy. Obviously in the end our hearts will be revealed and justice will be served.

I absolutely adore how this man is constantly, CONSTANTLY, referring to scripture to drive his points home. It gives me confidence that he wants to be as Biblically accurate when he explains these fragile topics.

Willful sin captures us when we, at the moment of decision, aren't convinced of God's love for us. Obedience becomes habit when the Gospel becomes central.

I believe, I have been addicted to pornography and sexual immorality since I was 12. I truly believe I was saved when I was 23 but I have continued to sin, I feel bad afterwards and I pray to God that I havent left his friendship and I TRY to stop but I know I will continue to. I don’t want to lose the friendship of God but I also find it so hard to let go of my sin.

For me, I am drawn towards masterbation when I am stressed...I start thinking impure thoughts...I pray in the moment, but my impure thoughts take over. I try to resist, but the pressure and the desire get stronger in a short period of time. Overall, I hate myself. I feel like He doesn't want anything to do with me anymore. Sexual thoughts are on my mind a lot. In public, I actively avoid looking at women, because most of them wear hardly nothing. Nowadays, one can see everything...I don't mean to commit adultery with my eyes, but even a split-second of seeing a young lady in a mini-skirt or skin-tight leggings brings impure thoughts into my mind. I am so broken right now and failing life...I don't feel like He is with me, because all I do is sin and sin. I am DISGUSTING and fed up with myself. I am most likely going to Hell or, at the very least I will be destroyed on Judgement Day. I have been praying to Him to make me a wife, so that I may leave this sin, but I have still yet to find her (I need a wife to love and to hold). I keep praying, but I feel like, again, He doesn't want to hear from me anymore. I am so ashamed of myself. I want to be His only, but I am addicted to masterbation to the point I cannot stop. Why am I alive, if all I do is disgrace you Father? I love you, but my mind and body is not deserving of you. Father, please save me.

If you have the Holy Spirit living inside of you after you are saved and looking at filth and doing it on purpose if you are really saved the Holy spirit will convict you of that sin!! If you continue to ignore the Holy spirit I believe he will withdraw from you because he's Holy

Wish You The Best “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works”(Jesus Christ, Matthew 5:16). “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them”(Ephesians 2:10). To put it simple, you are a believer, justified before God of your faith if you are doing and following the Lord’s commandments and teachings. Your faith, therefore will produce the fruits of righteousness. If you do not have the fruits that means you are not a believer in the Lord-“Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them”(Matthew 7:20).

@@paeng46 I can absolutly sign that. My "sin *LESS* "-argument wasn't justifying sin. My emphasis was laid on the direction a believer ought to walk by the change of heart through Gods grace. Still, I accept the reality of sin and that we will not reach perfection in this lifetime. Only God is.

This is very encouraging I’ve been struggling with sexual sin, many times I give into it and then immediately regret it. As Paul talks about in Ephesians I’m going to utilize the full armor of God to conquer this sin. I might not win the battle but I will win the war if I continue on!

Sexual sin is a work of the flesh Gal. Chapter 5 it is to be repented of and crucified. We don't pray about works of the flesh we as Christians turn from it (ie repent)

Ephesians 4:30, "And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption." Pretty much all sinning is willful. Many Christians struggle with certain sins that deep down they want to stop. It's still willful sinning. Those Christians are still sealed with the Holy Spirit. After reading Romans 1-5, Paul makes it crystal clear, objectively, that we're saved by grace apart from any works. Carnal thinking will perceive that as a license to sin. Paul immediately addresses that kind of thinking in Romans 6, where he makes it clear that grace is not a license to sin. But no amount of sinning, willful or otherwise, can change a believers' standing in Christ. To say otherwise makes the issue very subjective.

My willful sin is not the same as it used to be. It now comes with guilt and is followed by repentance and hopefully grace.

I admit I was ignorant as a young college student and even after learning about Hebrews 10, I struggled with the total surrender issue. As an older person now, I realize how much more important it is to give yourself over to God’s purposes and His sovereignty and heed His admonitions.

I think this makes it clear that we are to TRY our very best, and never ever feel we can just check the box as completed, since we cannot attain perfection, nor can we wallow in imperfection. It also makes clear that we each have to read the Word, because it speaks to all of us in the way we individually need to hear from it in a particular season of our lives.

Yes, this is exactly my experience. It's 100% faith in him by which we are justified. Any transformation comes from him, by faith in him as our God and Saviour. We simply need to seek His presence daily, to be renewed daily. Spending time with him, fills my heart and mind with the word of God, with his Holy Spirit. It's simply spending time with Him, he blesses you and manifest himself to you and fills you with himself so that he radiates off of you more and more. He increases our faith the more we spend time with him, and in turn, transforming our minds with the truth in His presence and filling us with the Holy Spirit.

I'm so glad you covered this and it finally found me. I was looking around online for something talking about this recently and didn't find much that I found useful. But it's explained so well here, thank you, God Bless!

all of our sin is willful. Because of our salvation, sin no longer has dominion over us-by God’s grace we are given the choice. I praise Him for His promise that He provides a way out when we suffer temptation, it’s on us to take that way He provides!! Such a wonderful display of His mercy and grace. My advice for when tempted is to not only recognize that our sin is why Christ Jesus had to be crucified, but to also focus on righteous things, and immediately go into prayer and the Word of God. His grace is sufficient, and all of our sins are payed for. Christ’s sacrifice is perfect and sufficient, and we are SEALED by the Holy Spirit of promise. Grace and peace to you all. It’s a battle we’re in, but God has defeated the evil one.

@@Charlie-ys1ny Repentance is when you come into 100% agreement with God about how you are going to live: you turn away from sin out of love for God and you are ready to obey God in all. That implies being genuinely sorry about having sinned. So, after that, if you had that heart change, you can't look at sin the same way, let alone choose to sin even when you know something is a sin and displeases God. And that agreement with God in your heart about sinning versus following his ways is the key to forgiveness of sins and answered prayers as well (Isaiah 59:1-2, 1 Peter 3:12). Repentance is a starting point for no longer living in sin (Romans 6:1-7) because the grace of God comes to give you power over sin (Romans 6:14), so it is no longer the other way around (sin having power over you). You get "saved" from that. You understand that you have come to a point where Jesus has said this to you: "I do not condemn you, now go and don't sin anymore" (John 8:11). And God's grace does empower you to go on and not sin anymore, as long as your heart will be 100% on living that way. I invite you to go to my channel and you will see "Reference Playlists." And I thought repentance was like just something that came after being saved like a change of mind where you don’t look at sin the same and you don’t want to live in sin anymore. @@Charlie-ys1ny If you want to learn and have answers from the Bible, then you need to put some time into that. We get saved by faith, not with works of the law, but *not without works of faith.* That's in James 2. The Bible doesn't speak of just those works that don't matter for salvation, so when you read "works" you need to be sure of what the Bible is speaking about so you don't make the wrong conclusions. And also, obedience is absolutely necessary and that's what shows your faith in fact (Hebrews 5:9, Galatians 5:6, John 14:15, Luke 6:46, James 1:22). Yes, your own obedience to God shows your love for God. And you also understand repentance incorrectly and likewise being saved from sin (Matthew 1:21) and going on sinning don't add up. Believing that distorts the very sense of salvation. OK, I already see that you believe four things that the Bible does not actually teach. So, spend some time investigating these topics from what I have shared with you in my first reply and you will have satisfying answers. I don't promise other replies soon. It will take your time and effort to be in sync with God and not just go on believing teachings that are popular but false. Just be humble and God will lead you to the truth.

How do you know what this man says is true? He certainly believes it, but that doesn't make it the truth. Ask any of God's chosen people ( Jews) and you will hear an equally compelling but totally different, "truth"'

If a person starts living life for theirselves and the devil he makes the decision to walk away from grace. I know for sure one can do this. My daddy raised me in the ways of the Lord. He was a Holiness preacher. He was really saved. Dont let the devil deceive you in thinking you can live any way you want to and still make it to heaven. That way of living will send you to hell.

If you are truly saved, you will always walk by faith and be sorry to God for your sins. But if a person sins and does not acknowledge it before God but enjoys it then he was never* saved in the first place.

All sin is ultimately willful. That is why I spend so much time having panic attacks and have trouble sleeping because my fear of having hit the point that no sacrifice remains for my sin. Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

We are saved by faith only not of works unless any man should boast. The King James bible shows us we are saved by faith only. We are not saved by stopping sinning or else Christ died in vain. Our faith is counted as righteousness. People like this old man in this video work for satan and make you think if you have not stopped sinning you are headed to hell. They promote a WORKS gospel. 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Let the devil be mad at you when you know the truth and let God be pleased. We are saved the moment we hear the gospel and trust on Jesus 100 percent and not of ourselves! Isaiah 64:6 “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.” Acts 16:30-31 30 "And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." Sinning on purpose has no effect on your salvation. You will reap what you sin but it will not send you to hell because you are under the blood of Jesus who forgives you past present and future sins for eternity. Don't fall for this crap. I did for 15 years until I found the truth thru Dr. Arnold Yankee and Robert Breaker on youtube. Ephesians 2:-8-10 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: “Not of works, lest any man should boast. “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” When we are saved its by faith. And then understanding that we can then have joy and do some work for God as we deal with it via God. But we are always saved because God is faithful to those who believe on the Son.

@Julie Great! He totally straightened me out. I was trying to stop sinning and couldn't seem to do it. The more I held back everything got worse. I finally gave up. When I heard the true message of salvation of faith only not of works, it all clicked. Also Dr Arnold Yankee was instrumental in this too. Both of these preachers set me right.

@@bobwreck3775 It is true that good works cannot save anyone... BUT we are saved UNTO good works. That means if we are saved, we will want to do good works; not to gain salvation, but to show that Jesus has saved us. The Apostle Paul made it clear that even though "where sin did abound, grace did much more abound," he warned that we shouldn't sin more so that grace may abound. That is called lasciviousness. Getting saved is not simply a "Get Out of Hell" Card so you don't have to pay for what you've done. People who think that simply praying a little prayer and going about your day with no serious regard for sin are deceived and have false assurance of a faith they never possessed. The "Sinner's Prayer" does not automatically make you bound for Heaven; It's pretty much just talk. It's like saying you're an athlete, but your lifestyle is contradictory to it. Actions speak louder than words, and it's no different for the Christian faith. And I am guilty of being hypocritical to Christ, but He is merciful to all who will repent of their sins.

The word that is in question is "willful" ..how about this one Sir? 'Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins. There is only the terrible expectation of God’s judgment and the raging fire that will consume his enemies. ' Hebrews 10:26-27

In context it’s talking about animal sacrifices that doesn’t take away sins. Read Hebrews chapter 10. Start with the first verse till you get to verse 27

"sinning" here talks about the real sin of rejecting the Gospel. If we continue in that ultimate (the only unforgivable) sin, there is not going to be another cross event or sacrifice (Savior--O.T. sacrifices as foreshadow of). Does anyone really think anyone can avoid sin totally after salvation? And remember, David/Psalms says "Blessed is the man to whom God will NOT impute sin." Just how low is one's idea of the holiness of a perfect God? If one iota of one tiny sin were imputed to you, you'd be condemned forever. Sinning after salvation has another term -- backsliding. It's a 100% club for Christians, though we strive to do better, ... most of the time.

In 1 Corinthians 15:2 there is a caution about believing in vain.. I believed in vain my entire life until recently. I never actually heard or understood the gospel. I knew Christ died and rose but never had that heart circumcision. It was all head knowledge. I was only skimming the surface of what and why Christ did what He did. Once you fully get His great Love thru His sacrifice, the Holy Spirit resides within that person. I literally felt something lift off me when I fully understood. The church In my opinion needs to do a better job in explaining the what and why of what grace is all about so people get born again.. Circumcised in the heart.. That's my testimony so I know first hand this video is an accurate teaching..There's a desire for our Lord our King...

This does not apply to those who are saved. This part of The Parable of the Sower refers to unbelievers. Why would God give the Holy Spirit and the promise of Salvation to those who repented to Christ, only to take it away once someone sins again? It´s not possible for us to be sin free. If you are saved and you look at a woman with lust, does that mean you lose your salvation? Of course not, you receive your salvation once you put your faith in Christ. If we lose it when we inevitably sin again, that means Jesus died for nothing. That doesn´t make sense.

@@greggpowers2021 This parable is unclear to some since the original poster misinterpreted what was written. There are 4 groups in the parable of the sower. The 4th group is the group that produces many fruit. This is the saved group. Here is some scripture that supports this . John 15:8. "This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples." Did you notice how the third group is the only one that produced any crop? Romans 8:1-4 Romans 8:14-17

I really needed to hear this, this marries the once saved always saved idea and the repent forever or else idea together perfectly! Thank you for this sound biblical teaching!

Lily of the Desert It’s not that you can achieve a sin free life. It is a Spirit led life that every true believer should live, that made him sanctified to God. There is a sin that leads to death, and there is a sin that leads not to death (1 John 5:16-17). For example, John said that “Whosoever is born of God doth not commit....and he cannot sin, because he is born of God”(1 John 3:9). Does that mean believers on Christ can never commit sin? No, because back in chapter 1:8, John had already made his argument, saying that “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us”. So, what does he mean by saying that born-again believers do not commit sin? The complete thought of 1 John 3:9 is in the Berean Study Bible, which says-“Anyone born of God *REFUSES TO PRACTICE SIN,* because God’s seed abides in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God”. That’s the exact thought. After you have been born-again in the Spirit, you must quit living a willful sinful lifestyle and live a sanctified life before God (see 2 Timothy 2:21 & John 15:2).

Hi Jodi, once we believe in our hearts that the blood of Jesus was shed for us and that he was resurrected we are saved , gospel of Paul 1corinthians 15:1-4 , the journey you speak of is the sanctification process in my understanding, peace be with you always and God bless

“Perseverance/persevering” means to live out the Gospel by honoring our choice to follow Christ so his name can be glorified. No confusion there. Thank you for such a clear interpretation.

Amen by his spirit we can go on in the faith we so genuinely confessed from the beginning.

Salt Maker Phi 1:6 is about works..... @@annetan5038 Most of our sins are willful, we choose them because in this life we are sinners. I do believe however that some willful sins are more wholehearted, intentional and persistent than other willful sins, with no effort to fight or keep them away. If you look at the text it speaks of an ongoing way of living in sin. Sins that becomes a way of living and a pattern in everyday life. For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, Hebrews 10:26 ESV We are slaves to the one whom we obey. Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness? Romans 6:16 ESV

We of course have free will, but if we pursue our faith, we find ourselves ever more capable of putting "old sins behind us", and as we do, we find more within ourselves, which we will desire to change, because we love God and care. "I sin daily" as Paul stated, is a powerful message, as he stated it, on his constant road to preach the gospel. Can we possibly expect to do better than Paul? I don't, and hope someday to approach his level of faith. "As long as we are disgusted with our sin, and turn away, even that we fall again, we live by faith. When or if we no longer are hurt by our sins, then we can walk away, but that means we never really were "His" in the first place. "All whom Jesus calls, come to him, and all whom God chooses, are called by Jesus", we can study, work at faith, at turning away, and turning to God, but while we live in the flesh, we shall fall short. If we work to put our sins behind us, we are saved, if we choose to live and revel in our sin, we never were. "Faith is believing in the promise of things unseen", it is all about our heart, not our mind.

This is an excellent video. Even though I strongly believe you can't lose your salvation, I definitely understand why many people believe you can lose your salvation. Many people believe you can lose your salvation due to thinking that once saved always saved teaches that once you accept Christ in your heart, you're free to live your life any way you want and still go to heaven, but once saved always saved doesn't teach that. Once saved always saved doesn't mean that once you accept Christ in your heart, you can lie all the time, steal all the time, get high all the time, live your life any way you want, have affairs all the time, etc and still go to heaven. Some churches talk about how accepting Christ in your heart is the only way to heaven but never explain what accepting Christ in your heart really means, which causes people to be unintentionally deceived into thinking how accepting Christ in your heart by just mouthing the words saves someone. Accepting Christ in your heart by just mouthing the words without meaning it in your heart doesn't save someone. In order to be saved, you have to accept Christ in your heart and really mean it in your heart. 2 Corinthians 5:17 explains how if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation. When a person accepts Christ in their heart by just mouthing the words without meaning it in their heart, they don't become a new creation. When a person accepts Christ in their heart by mouthing the words and meaning it in their heart, they become a new creation. A person has to accept Christ in their heart and mean it in their heart in order to experience the positive changes that happen to someone when they become saved. When a person accepts Christ in their heart and means it in their heart, they experience positive changes in their life such as never living a lifestyle defined by sin anymore (they still sin, they are not perfect, they still have sin weaknesses, etc, but they never live a lifestyle defined by sin anymore), they want to live for the Lord, they want to obey the Bible, they want to serve God, they are going to persevere to the end (when the Bible talks about how Christians persevere to the end, it doesn't mean people can lose their salvation; it means how when you accept Christ and mean it in your heart, you will persevere to the end), they are not going to take advantage of grace, they are not going to sin so that grace can abound, they are never going to stop believing in Christ, etc. Those are the positive changes that happen to someone when they become saved, accept Christ in their heart and mean it in their heart, etc. When a person is truly saved, they are still going to sin, still going to make bad decisions in life, still going to have sin weaknesses, etc, but they are never going to live a lifestyle defined by sin anymore. Accepting Christ and really meaning it in your heart means you no longer want to live a lifestyle defined by sin anymore, you no longer want to live for the devil, you want to live for the Lord, you want to serve the Lord, you want Jesus in your heart to help you live for him, you don't want to take advantage of grace, you don't want to sin so that grace can abound, you want to repent, etc. Another argument I hear as to why some people think you can lose your salvation is the argument about people who call themselves ex-Christians. 1 John 2:19 explains how there's no such thing as an ex-Christian. If there's no such thing as an ex-Christian, it implies how you can't lose your salvation. When people say that they are ex-Christians, what they usually mean by that is they used to go to church, they used to believe in God, they used to believe in the Bible, they used to believe Jesus died on the cross, they used to be a fan of Christianity, etc, but none of those things make someone a Christian. Going to church, reading your Bible, believing in the Bible, believing the Bible is the Word of God, believing Jesus died on the cross, being a fan of Christianity, etc doesn't make someone a Christian. A Christian is someone who has accepted Christ in their heart and really meant it in their heart. Judas in the Bible was not an ex-Christian. Judas in the Bible never was a Christian. Judas sampled Christianity, gave Christianity a test drive, told other people about the gospel, was a fan of Christianity at one time, believed in the Bible at one time, went to church, went to Bible studies, etc, but Judas never committed himself to Jesus, and Judas never accepted Christ in his heart and meant it in his heart, which is why Judas was never a Christian.

Certainly does. But it’s highly misunderstood. It says “if we willfully sin”, not “if we sin”. There is a difference between sin and willfully sin. Otherwise it would simply day sin. The word “willfully” is extremely important. And the Greek meaning of this word is critical to understanding this truth. Look it up and check what I’m saying. The Greek word for this is “Hekousios” and it means spontaneously or without care. Basically, to live in sin without concern, conscience, or without conviction. “Willfully” can be replaced with “freely”. There is a sense of complete freedom to sin and live in sin without any care at all. This is because at this point the Holy Spirit is no longer able to reach or bring conviction to the heart. The conscience has been seared. This is what real “backsliding” is. Backsliding is not about simply living in sin for a time away from God. There is more to it than that. Because if the Holy Spirit is still able to convict your heart then you haven’t fully backslidden and you aren’t yet sinning free from conviction. You aren’t sinning freely. Once you sin free from the conviction of the Holy Spirit then there is nothing that can turn you back and there no longer remains a sacrifice for forgiveness. The very fact that a person is concerned about this verse (which is why the verse is discussed so much) reveals the godly fear and conviction of the heart.

This video demonstrated something that I had difficulty grasping in my teenage and early 20s, but was something that I wanted to study and pursue. One of my initial fears when having this perspective was having what was known as a "work based faith." which I know many have a negative view of, including myself. However, this perspective on salvation wasn't meant for fueling a legalistic mindset, following God's law out of fear of losing salvation, but rather seeking a life of righteousness and truth because we love our God, and love the relationship that we have with Him. Our salvation is one of the many blessings that we have because of our relationship with God, which should be the focus of our lives. Now the thing is, the battle between the thoughts of once saved always saved, vs the thought of losing salvation, Hebrews 6 verses 4-6 does talk about this very situation. My first view that aligned with the thoughts of "Those who desire a relationship with God, will never leave Him" contradicted my next view in Hebrews describing "For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt." This passage I believe describes someone who truly accepts the Holy Spirit, a relationship with God through professing Jesus's name, and deliberately choose to deny Him in pursuit of the world. This however, could also be interpreted similarly as what was claimed in this video regarding Titus 1 vs 15-16, but my initial view on Titus was similar to the thoughts of "Not everyone who professes Jesus as Lord will receive salvation." rather than the one who truly believes and then falls away. It's still something to think about for sure.

It makes me think of the scripture in the gospel “Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. “Folks, if we could lose our salvation we would.” - Voddie Baucham. As a Christian I struggled with this a lot, and I always doubted my salvation. But at some point the Christian has to realize that he/she will never be free from sin in this life. This is no excuse to sin, but my enduring sin makes me look to my Savior all the more. Christ did not buy me with His blood to forsake me the moment I sinned again. The moment I put my faith in Him was the moment I was forgiven once and for all, so that nothing hinders my access to the Father. So this is with all who are truly his.

playkandle I am not saying God’s Grace is an excuse to sin. But to say that we are without sin is to call God a liar (1 John 1:8-10). Every Christian still commits sin, sometimes in ways we don’t even recognize. We are not saved by our good works, it is Christ that saves. The difference is that the Christian will produce good works as a fruit instead of it being the root of his salvation. That is why when you see a so-called Christian committing adultery or murder, it would be safe to say he does not know Christ, because he still loves his sin. But to say that in order to enter the kingdom of God you must never commit sin again is a lie and is a heresy. Because that implies we can get to heaven through doing good works instead of fully trusting in Christ’s sacrifice.

The deeper I grow in Christ and the more my love for Jesus has blossomed, the term "willful sinning" immediately makes me want to vomit. The key to overcoming sin is our love for Jesus has to be stronger. Pray to have that love

To do so he had to get out of the boat. ~ John 14:12 “ He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do;“ To do the “greater works than these” that Jesus spoke of, we have to GET OUT OF THE BOAT. That means we have to let go of the things of this world that we tend to rely on like our job, our money, our social safety net, our government, etc. ~ Luke 9:3 And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece.” Jesus sent them out to preach the gospel but commanded them to take nothing with them. The eternal security argument is simply this: Once you are saved, you can never lose your salvation. But in the event that you do, then you were never saved to begin with. So the claim is that fallen or apostate believer never actually existed so it is not possible for them to lose their salvation. In other words, a saved person can never walk away from the Lord, although they must of their own volition choose to be saved. What a fallacy!

It is a paradox because at the end of the day, God would want all his people to be saved. All sinners would repent either in this world or hell, but it is my own belief that hell is not truly an eternity, but a means to quite literally cleanse the soul in fire. Afterwards, they are sent to heaven where they can roam in peace.

Ghostwriter Paradox? Not really. God wants all people to be saved, but he has given humans free agency to choose their eternal home; be that heaven or hell. If one place is not real, then neither is the other. Wishing or believing differently may be comforting but it does not change the facts.

This teaching ties people up in exegetical knots. It is easier to understand that we accept Christ but fall away through sin or we accept Christ and persevere despite our sinfulness. We are given freedom to respond to grace or not. The Scriptures must be read in their whole context and not just put through the prism of one idea of one man who doubted his salvation and out of fear confected a way of assurance by claiming invincible justification. Luther was lethal for a true understanding of our salvation.

You need to do as Paul instructs in 1 Corinthians 13:5 -- "Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?-unless indeed you fail to meet the test!" What is that test? Paul also tells us in Colossians 1:10 -- "...bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;". What is that fruit? "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law (Galatians 5:22-23)." Peter sheds more light in 2 Peter 1 -- "For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins. Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and election, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall." So always be testing yourself to see if you are increasing in spiritual fruit. Am I more sanctified today than I was a year ago? Ten years ago? If you see fruit increasing, even if the increases are small, you pass the test! If you see no sign of fruit increasing, then what kind of tree are you? Repent! It's never too late. I thought I was a Christian for much of my life, but it took being confronted with my most serious ongoing sin, confessing it, getting counseling, repenting, and abandoning that my way of life in order to really know that I am saved. Though it was painful at the time, I am glad my sin was exposed so that I could repent and start to bear fruit. I now have no doubt as to my eternal status. Hope this helps.

Backdoorsale - To be born again of the Spirit of God, sins forgiven, adopted into the family of God, being indwelt by the Holy Spirit, having Eternal Life in Christ Jesus - need I go on. You cannot come to the Lord Jesus unless the Father (God) draws you to Him by His Spirit. Therefore: John ch. 6 v 37 says 'All that the Father giveth me shall come to me, and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out'. Jesus said: I am come not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Romans ch. 3 v 23 'For there is no difference, for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God'. God saves us by His Grace which is His unmerited favour towards sinners, through faith and that not of ourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works lest any one should boast. It is Christ who has shed His precious blood, first towards God for the full satisfaction of His wrath and for His glory - then God reaches out to us in Love and Grace. If God is satisfied with what Christ has done, why not you. If God gives you Eternal Life when you believe, how can you possibly be lost. When you are saved you become a new creation in Christ Jesus, the old man after the flesh is gone as far as God is concerned. That old man after Adam cannot be brought back in God's reckoning of you. You are still in a body of flesh and still prone to fail and sin, but Jesus Christ is our advocate with the Father and will restore us into fellowship with the Father. Fellowship can be broken, but the relationship of children can never be broken.

Do you trust in Christ? So then you are saved. If you trust in Christ, you will persevere. Dont look within yourself to find your assurance. Look to Christ and his finished work. He is Christ for you!

I have trouble with this video in that it almost makes it sound like salvation is dependant on me rather than Jesus and the Holy Spirit (e.g. if I never lose faith, if I'm just obedient enough, etc...). With this line of thinking no one's salvation is ever secure because what if someone falls away (doubts) and wilfully sins at the end of their life after having a lifelong relationship with Jesus? Does that mean they never knew Jesus? By no means! Rather I think the first thing is first "And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment." (Mark 12:30 KJV) So to me this emphasizes the relationship you have with God above all else. With that love obedience follows (If ye love me, keep my commandments. -John 14:15 KJV). So we know the first commandment (see above), the second commandment is: "And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these." (Mark 12:31 KJV). Again emphasizing the relationship. From these the fruit of the Spirit and appropriate works should follow. So what about one of the scariest passages in the Bible, "And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." (Matthew 7:23)? If you look at the passage before that, the many will proclaim their WORKS as their reason to go into heaven and mention nothing of their relationship. ("Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?" -Matthew 7:22 KJV) The point is this, the work of salvation is done, Jesus completed that at the cross, and the Father knew who He would save (those who accept Christ) and the moment we're saved the Holy Spirit lives inside us and will never depart (even when we sin). We respond to God's grace and yes we work out salvation with fear and trembling, but that doesn't mean we are responsible for making sure we were "really saved in the first place," rather it means we don't abuse God's grace because we love Him. If we truly believed and accepted Christ as our saviour and repented of our sins, would God withhold the Holy Spirit because He knows we might wilfully sin later? No. And if we, as believers, have the Holy Spirit and later sin, somehow losing our salvation would God send His Holy Spirit to dwell with us in hell? Of course not! (Verses to follow) When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. John 19:30 KJV Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. John 15:16 KJV In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Ephesians 1:13 KJV And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; John 14:16 KJV

It is based on you in some sense, synergism. Our Lord clearly taught that the measure you use will be used against you. If you’re charitable, He will be charitable to you. If you forgive, He will forgive you.
