We met Todd at a Kamelot concert in St. Pete, Florida years ago, he had just started singing with QR, I knew him from his Crimson Glory days only. He literally stood outside with us for an hour and a half talking rock, people didn't recognise him much back there so it was easier. At some point he asked us "Do you want to go say hi to the Kamelot guys before the show? I know them well" We were like "Hell yeah" went in, he got me a Casey Grillo signed drumstick and spent sometime with the guys. Then is showtime and Todd stayed with us through the whole show, gave us a hug after and left. What a class dude.

@KEN5423 have you found any newer bands to enjoy these days? I take it you were(are) a Pantera fan. I clung to Pantera in the 90s because Lars and Bob Rock were ruining Metallica. Played a lot of drums, made a little music with my guitar-playing brother but could never find a decent vocalist. Of today's music I have thought that Volbeat has stood apart from the cookie-cutter herd as far as vocals go. Difficult to find a hardcore metal band standing on its own, either trying to play like a machine gun, snort like a pig, play a goth church organ sounding like something satanic doing a soundtrack for Star Wars, or do the multi-vocal scream/emo shit. Avenged 7X when the Rev was alive sounded good......

I'd say the reason is two-fold. First, two of arguably the most integral members are no longer with the band. Second, Todd comes off as an impersonator, rather than original. Not everyone is into that. Boston and Journey did the same thing and lost a lot of people because of it. Todd is a great singer, just wish he found his own way rather than being in a cover band.

Love Queensryche! I first got their EP with 'Queen Of The Reich' while a student at Seton Hall back in the early 80's, after hearing the song on WSOU, Seton Hall's FM college station. Then 'The Warning' came out and all hell broke loose... my god... it was nothing like we'd heard before! That same year, I was lucky to catch Queensryche playing the famous Brooklyn, NY rock club called L'Amour, and they were beyond incredible! Personnel changes aside, of course the old Queensryche with Tate and DeGarmo was much better than the current incarnation, but I have to give LaTorre credit, as he is a damn good vocalist in his own reich (get it... ha ha)! I am from Bloomfield few towns over from Seton Hall and listened to SOU back then and still do today. Queensryche was my first concert back in 88 opening for Def Leppard in Brendan Byrne arena back them. Still remember it to this day. ❤👏🙌🤘🏻

@@colettelutter7954 Nice! Great to hear from others that 'were there', during this great era of rock! I was at that show with QR and Leppard as well. We had a ton of fun then! I can remember my attitude about college was study hard and party hard too! My roomate was going out with this girl from the dorm next door at SHU, and she had a roommate who just transferred there. Her roommate wanted to 'meet a guy', so she introduced me to her.... long story short, we both dated these great ladies for about 2 years while we were students at SHU. We simply 'switched rooms', so our girlfriends lived with us, unbeknownst to the authorities there! You see, the dorms were not unisex.... there were separate men's dorms and female dorms, so we broke the rules LOL! And we had the best 'metal parties' on weekends as well with 'keggers' in the shower stalls! Seton Hall was transformed into 'pleasure palace' for us, with great music to boot! Man, I would give anything to return to those days!

Hey, for having no echo machines or voice-over equipment to aid in Todd LaTorre's singing, I think he belted out this number pretty damn good. Noone can match a Geoff Tate or say, a Robert Halford (Judas Priest) but there are a few who can give adaquate justice to songs that are almost impossible to sing by any conventional singer. It's that or never hear these classic, heavy metal songs done live again. I myself, love to go back to the 80's when I grew up, & hear these masterpieces played live and always will. So who gives a f@*k who's singing. As long as they can do justice to the song, I say "Bring it on, really really LOUD and LIVE" \m/
