Yes it’s sensational ❤️‍🔥 It’s one of my top 5 Queen songs and only Queen/ Freddie fans know how difficult it is to choose 5. When I’m in a certain mood White Queen brings tears to my eyes. Goosebumps of course. A band one never gets ‘ used to ‘ GOAT ✌🏼♥️

I’m pretty sure they’d have evolved into a jam band - the rock equivalent of a string quartet - had Freddie survived. They just had that kind of chemistry.

I love that you did this. When I first heard this I was struck by Freddie’s voice how pure and true it was. The song has such an atmosphere about it like it’s some kind of medieval tale of Knights and their ladies. To think this is live is astounding. This is better than the recording. Imagine sitting in that audience and having this performance going on. The music is mystical. It’s like it weaves a spell. You don’t want it to end. Thank you for doing this.

What a fantastic concert this was and I was so lucky to see this at the time brought my ticket for £2.50 back in 1975 and was presented by the The great Bob Harris whistle Test. What a band what a voice never to be beaten best frontman of a band ever in my opinion FREDDIE Such a sad loss to the music industry keep listening to more of his tracks including his time with duo partner opera singer Montsaratt Caballè Barcelona' & 'How can I go on' Shows what an epic voice he had RIP FREDDIE 🙏❤

Thanks Salvo for another great reaction... yes, you are becoming a Queenie!! So many of us are... and for so many years... I so LOVE this song, it highlights not only Freddie's vocals, but also his insane piano skills, and with Brian enhancing the 'conversation' between guitar and piano, it becomes so hauntingly mesmerizing and beautiful... one of my all-time favorites. Roger and John round out the song so expertly, keeping the tempo flowing so smoothly and effortlessly... yes, TOTALLY underrated!! Another totally underrated song would be "The Prophet's Song", since BoRhap out-shined it on the Night at the Opera album... or "In the Lap of the Gods", the first one, not the 'revisited' one, that's a totally different song... blessings to you, my dear friend...

Your question: “Did he sing every song like this???” Answer: “Yes, and then some.” Freddie poured his heart and soul into every single performance. He wanted the people in the audience to get good value for the price of the ticket; he wanted the concert experience to be somewhat different than listening to their recordings. But I think it was more than that-Freddie was a true artist and always performed each song by expressing the particular emotion behind each song as he sang. It sounds like something obvious and easy and her few performers actually do it. Probably cuz it’s exhausting and hard to conjure that emotion the 1000th time you have sung that song. But Freddie always brought it. I, for one, am very thankful that I was alive at a time to have witnessed his genius! Thanks for doing this reaction!

I hear you,Sal. Freddie had utter control of his voice…and such nimbleness and his pitch placement was perfect. This is very complex melodically and he handles it was ease, confidence and aplomb. A master at work. Saying Freddie is “good” is a huge understatement. He is, perhaps, the best pop rock voice ever. Certainly many consider him so. Not hard rock….but that wasn’t Queen’s genre anyway

It was written by Brian for his previous band “Smile” in 1968, several years before the band “Queen” would be created in 1970. Queen's catalog of music is wide and varied. It includes soft rock, hard rock, progressive rock, thrash rock, area rock, rockabilly, R&B, blues, gospel, disco, jazz, folk, ragtime, opera, ballads, British music hall tunes, etc, and songs combining any number of these genders (i.e "T.he March of the Black Queen" - kzread.info/dash/bejne/haN2r8qxj8TWj8o.html which is too complex to ever perform live) One of my favorite of Queen's early songs is called "Liar" - kzread.info/dash/bejne/eH9tu7WrmZXefrQ.html. Also, I love this medley of 3 songs "In The Lap of The Gods - Revisited", "Seven Seas of Rhye", and "Tear It Up" - kzread.info/dash/bejne/pZZh17ezfNiZh8Y.html

Magical, powerful, compelling, passionate, apparition-like song. So glad you reviewed "White Queen", because I'm not sure I've heard anyone touch this beautiful ballad. So many of Queen's songs are underrated, and this certainly is one of them. In 1975, Freddie's voice was crystal clear, with the ability to traverse octaves easily, and hold notes endlessly. As he sings "White Queen," Freddie draws you into a mystical realm with his amorous and erotic voice. Unfortunately, he started smoking cigarettes, and he developed the dreaded vocal nodes. As time progressed, Freddie developed his signature "growl", which is also quite appealing. In this song, let's not forget about Freddie's ardent and intense piano playing that is absolutely mesmerizing. Freddie easily could have been a concert pianist. Thank you, Salvo, for reviewing this song.

Thanks, Salvo! one of my very favorite live performances.. the interplay between Freddie on keys & Brian on guitar (remember, Brian wrote this) - then the drums & bass... this is the perfect band, IMHO... you should def. see more live stuff.. anything at all from the 1981 Montreal concert will blow you away.. you may have seen "Somebody to Love" - but also, see "Save Me" - another incredible collaboration with Brian & Fred (and Roger & John, of course)- look forward to more from you...

One of the best songs by Queen (Brian May) and sung by the best singer ever. I’m a HUGE Freddie fan! I have about 30 Freddie dolls, pictures of him on my walls (a few hand painted) and jewelry of him as well! Only wish I could have seen them in person. The band now to me is not as good as when Freddie was alive. Maybe if they wrote new songs, I might like them a bit better. You made me cry as I felt your emotions as they resemble mine!

Dude, your face scrunched with awed emotions as I hoped it would!!! Anyone who gets this performance just “knows” what they’re being privileged to hear!!

This is "the" definitive live version of this song. I saw it live twice on this tour in 1975.

Great reaction...Brian May wrote “White Queen” about a girl in his university ...he really liked her but didn’t have the courage to approach her..believe it or not ”Black Queen” is featured in the game “Final Fantasy” V111...Queen is everywhere🤩

In the instrumental portion, you can hear,at least in this early part of their career, the influence of Jimmy Page on Brian’s playing. No secret. Queen loved Zeppelin. But Queen very quickly developed their own style and their creativity was boundless.

You have no idea how much I enjoyed this reaction. Watching & listening as you're complimenting and in awe of Freddie's live vocals here, we knew, we knew what was coming up next! The piano notes hit and Brian's guitar takes off into the stratosphere. A piano/guitar dance begins. It's plum pretty, ain't it?

Whenever I hear this and Freddie describing the White Queen walking in light always makes me think of Galadriel walking through Lothlorien.
