    @@CurtisMadeIt hey man, I'm building this now, and Im assembling the very first frame on the bottom. The corners keep wanting to stick up on one edge. I swear my cuts are within 1/16 of each other but I can't figure out how to get it to lay flat. Any advice? • @CurtisMadeIt

    @CurtisMadeIt

    @OtherDalfite This could be because your wood is warped. Maybe try turning one of your boards that you think could be the problem over...switch a couple of the boards possibly could make it sit down a little more flat. I hope that makes it work for you.

    Hi, thank you so much for this detailed explanation. I am trying to tackle this project and just came back from home depot after purchasing the wood. I provided them the measurements and they cut it in store for me. After arriving home, I measured the pieces and realized all of them are about half an inch to an inch shorter than they need to be i.e 83 inches instead of 84, 32 inches instead of 33, 56 instead of 57 etc. Will this impact the build to the point that I am screwed and have to buy more wood and try again? Is there something I can do to remedy this? Again, thank you so much for your time.

    @woodworking_fusion Hey Eagle...errr Fusion...I don't know what to call you. You are right on time my friend, no one is late to this party! You have a very good question, one that I don't remember the answer to. The back side of that storage area is a 1x6 if I remember correctly...that means the width of that board is no more than 3/4" (.75). You are going to want hinges that are...like...5/8" deep on both sides so they don't over hang the back of the storage area. I hope this helps and makes sense. If you need me to, I'll take the time to try and dig up the picture of the exact ones I used. I'm on instagram Curtis_Made_It. We'll talk again soon. My husband and I are planning on building this for our son. What i was wondering is you changed the sides to 84in and the head to 57in...is the foot still 60in or is that changed to 57in as well? Also just curious as to why it had to be changed to 57in. I can't wait to build this for my son. Hes so excited!! Tha ks so much!!

  • @CurtisMadeIt

    @CurtisMadeIt

    3 жыл бұрын

    @Nikki Graham Hey Miss Nikki, thanks for your interest and questions. The sides changed to 84 inches to have space to bolt on to for the headboard addition. The headboard in the frame drops down to 57 inches, while the footboard remains at 60” because the frame head board fits *inside* of the side boards. Each side board is 1.5” wide so that will make up the other 3”. The footboard stays at 60” because you secure that one from the outside foot area of the bed, instead of from the side like you do the joists. I hope this makes sense and helps. Let me know if I can do anything else for you. Talk to you soon!

    @Jewelleeann Anger YES!! Check the video at 2:22 for a complete list of the cuts and then again at 3:17 for another reference point when I start actually assembling the headboard. I hope this helps, let me know if you need anything else. Thanks for your interest!

    @@CurtisMadeIt how tall did you make the headboard

    @Jewelleeann Anger I’m in a different state right now for my day job so I can’t actually measure it, but the top of the headboard is close to 5 feet. The way I built it in this video for you, the viewer, I made it adjustable so you can raise or lower it as desired.

    @dreik Hey there D, there are *no* nails used in this build…or any of my builds really. They are all screws. I re-reviewed my video and can’t seem to tell exactly what you are referring to at the fifty five second area. Can you elaborate please? You can DM me on Instagram, I’m C_Love1984. Talk to you soon.

    @dreik Hey D, again, there are no nails at all in this build. I think you may be referring to the 2x4’s that I used to secure the base to the frame. You can switch these out for hurricane ties(Simpson strong ties) and you will be just fine. I hope this helps, let me know if I can do anything else at all for ya. Talk to you soon.

    So my daughter doesn't have a box spring so I'm doing mine a little differently. I need 81inx61 inside measurements just for her mattress to sit inside but I also wanna do the headboard you made as well. So would I need to make my frame at 88in long so ill be able to attach the 1x6 headboard?

    @Joe Robbins I believe that is correct Joe, 88 inches sounds right to me(81+1.5+5.5). Also, no box spring, you can just slap some 11/32 plywood on the deck for the mattress to sit on. I hope your build goes well. Let me know if you need anything else.
