In the Jacksons they used the Otis 2000 voice. I've seen one with a Kone EcoDisc voice.

You're both wrong. It's a modern Drucegrove voice (evolution of the Kone-Otis voice also made by Drucegrove)

why didnt you ride the goods lifts with the concertina door and were you busted at the end? good video though. long live elevators/lifts and the elevator community. from richard pearson fellow elevator/lift enthusiast.

Queen Mary's hangs in the balance.

Thease lifts were refurbished in 1989 by E.R.S .I spent a couple of days working on them.I supose since then they have been refurbished again by Jacksons. Lifts are suposed to have a refurb life of 30 years before major refurb is needed.Incedently Queen Mary's is suposed to have the longest hospital corridor in the UK

I hate jackson lifts too Ben I prefer otis gen2 lifts.

The third Jackson lift looks like it was a modernisation of an older lift rather than a replacement as the doors of that lift still look quite old. Possibly an old Express or Otis.

Did you heard about Queen Mary's Boat in Long Beach in California, North America?

I know Dewhurst fixtures are very common in England, but it's a hell of alot better than EPCO, Innovation, PTL, Monitor, and GAL

Well it would be worse if they put cheap genarics instead of those jacksons.

The main reason for these refurbishments is disability compliance plus all lifts have to comply to certain European standards now so changes do have to be made as otherwise places like hospitals can be done by the disabled community if they can't use the lifts properly for some reason.

Looks like you was too late, Ben! I also experienced that on my tours. This was very disappointing for me. Sometimes I've also talked with employees about how the lifts used to be and then they tell me about and I just got more annoyed that I was too late. AAARRRGGHHHH! Your tour in this hospital described the problem very good, thank you for sharing. Also very dull ultra-clean corridors :-(((

Go to the abandoned bit of Queen Mary's. There are some old 1970's ones in there, probably later. they are massive and one of them is a Staff Service Lift.

Yeah. I do a lot of it. You would have liked Larner Road Estate. It has a maisonette and 7 blocks of flats (did). Now there are only 2. One of them is being torn down at the moment. Around 4 months ago they were all still up with all the left behind furniture in it and lifts still running and working. They took the lifts apart and threw the stuff away and used the doors as window blocks.

It was abandoned around 2012. I haven't seen the damage yet but I will have a look later.

don't worry all the jacksons lifts will get distroyed very very very soon

yuck how some modern lifts have to be plain and clean. older lifts are entertaining and eye pleasing. high voltage signs are fun. QM's generics are fun to watch. i would like to ride them.

it sounds tired as well.

I am completely indifferent when it comes to lifts
