I like the lift that say if the doors are opening and are open, especially as you mentioned that it’s good for us visually impaired people.

I love the enthusiasm! Keep doing what you're doing. Sadly, I'm not as interested in lifts as you. But i was born at Whipps cross in 1988.

The first modded one you ridden in was probably another old Jensen lift.

aberdeen royal infirmary (ARI) has atleast 9 of them 1960s jensen lifts like the one in this vid

I am not sure if the fixtures on the Jensen elevator are original. But it has an epic motor! 3:47 I can see where the old indicator was. So it is not a complete replacement, but a modernization. Considering one elevator is being modernized, and some others are modernized, I am afraid all original elevators will be modernized. On the Otis/Evans elevator, either the fixtures have been replaced, or the elevator is from the 1990s. Imagine I am a blind person "Doors opening" "Doors open" "Doors open" Walks into elevator, only to smack into door, because it said the door was open when it was closing. Notice the fixtures on the service elevator. Dewhurst buttons, but there are also older buttons, like on Etchells Congdon & Muir elevators. Are the Dewhurst buttons replacements? Or are these Dewhurst fixtures?

gated lift looks like a freight lift. evans/Otis lift is ok for a modern lift. the service lifts are great.

The gated lift has been modernised with Doppler fixtures & logic. It is now so unreliable. There is a sign on it saying: "THIS LIFT IS REGULARLY BEING PLACED OUT OF ORDER. THIS IS DUE TO ⱣɆⱣꝊȽɆ [sic] BLOCKING OR HOLDING THE DOORS OPEN AND THE LIFT HAVING TO BE RE PROGRAMMED [sic] EACH TIME.THIS [sic] IS CAUSING GREAT INCONVINENCE [sic] AND WE ARE HOPING TO STOP THIS PRACTICE WITH YOUR HELP."
