Queen Elizabeth II Funeral: royal family say final goodbye

The day of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral has been one of majesty and remembrance.
(Subscribe: bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe)
A day when many came together for the Queen. First at the state funeral, attended by hundreds of politicians and world leaders and then, as Queen Elizabeth made her final journey back to Windsor Castle, to be buried beside her husband Prince Philip.
The Archbishop of Canterbury, in the service at Westminster Abbey, said the Queen had touched "a multitude of lives", and it was a multitude who turned out on the streets today, lining the route of the procession as the state hearse passed by, the Queen's coffin draped with the Royal Standard and garlanded in flowers.
A day like no other in recent history.

Doesn't matter how old you are, losing your parent is awful. Queen Elizabeth was lucky to be able to watch her own children grow well into old age and they were equally as lucky to have had her as their mother for so long.

Seeing the Queen's coffin descending to her final resting place was what really got me. It made the whole thing so real and final. To top it off, seeing the King's face absolutely broke me. 😭 He lived more than half of his life with his mum, and when she passed, not only did he lose her but he was given this huge responsibility of ruling a kingdom too. I know he has been trained for this all his life, but I still think he probably wished his mum was back so she can show him the ropes. King or not, you will never not need your mum.. Sending my deepest sympathies to our friends in the UK and the Commonwealth. Also, I hope the Royal Family will have anopportunity to grieve properly, and may they find comfort amongst themselves. Thank you for your dedication and service, Ma'am. Rest in paradise.🤍

Please don’t use "protocol" to justify how others grieve. No rule says they can't cry publicly. They cried for weeks before she passed, and they made peace with her final call. The queen's loved ones honored her while she was alive. Therefore they celebrated her gaining her heavenly wings out of love, not guilt.

Queen Elizabeth and my Nanny were around the same age when they passed. I hope they have met and become fast friends in heaven. To the British people, who so elegantly organized this ceremony, well done.

I felt compelled to re-watch her funeral as I still have a hard time accepting that we will never see her again. I guess this is part of my grieving process. I never knew life without her until her death. She was a guiding light, a pillar of strength, integrity, and constancy, not only me but for people all over the world. I will always miss her. Rest easy now, my Queen, you have fulfilled your duty to your people with immense humility, grace, and love.

Have to disagree slightly The past week has shown just how special Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ll is and how loved, liked and respected not only by her British subjects, but from around the world The funeral procession brought home how loved and respected Her Majesty is I fear that the Monarch's that follow will not enjoy the love and respect on the same level as Queen Elizabeth ll was loved and respected Unfortunately her children by and large have lacked the moral compass of their parents We have the current King who was apparently having an affair while still married to Diana, which shows really bad judgement and morals It's hard to imagine the Public showing the same level of love and respect as his mother commanded

Looking at Charles made me shed a tear, forget the King status, he lost his beloved mother at 73, yes it is a blessing he had her for so long but can you imagine your mother being there throughout your whole long life then her passing (even though it had to happen one day) just feel for him. I didn't know the Queen personally, but I do respect her and she will always be my Queen.

After 58 years I know little of her personal life, but much of her public life. And this is a testament to the dedication she brought to service and duty, putting this ahead of her 'brand', that tiresome modern indulgence, that is often bought for cheap and sold for less. She was class. I never saw her in person, here in Canada. But watching this today I felt a longing to belong to the Commonwealth in a way I hadn't since maybe I was a little kid. Hearing that bell toll took me back to when my own grandmother of blessed memory died. She was born a year and over a month after Queen Elizabeth, and was part of that same generation a hemisphere away. May Queen Elizabeth and others whom await the resurrection of the dead-including my grandmother-have their hope to see our Redeemer stand upon the Earth at the last soon, and may those of us alive be caught up with them.

This was absolutely breath taking. I was constantly taken aback. And even thought to myself my country wasn't even around when the queen was created and my countrymen must have first heard of the queen in newspapers in black and white because of no electric or lack off. I was taken a back and understood how so many nations must have felt when british first landed on there homeland. Its actually the last golden monarchy which is is a keyhole into the past how things were. This truly was a day in history regardless of how we feel towards the monarchy, I feel as without it so many of our lives would be different but I appreciate everything about our great nation of Britain and am glad to be one of the many who have helped shape this nation through our own cultures. May God keeps this nation great and glorious.

Yes. King Charles III has taken on the duty well, even though he once said he would never want to be king. He did it for her wishes and while heartbroken over losing his mother, in the same breath, being new monarch with much weight of responsibility. King Charles III did well. I was touched by all of it, a very solemn, but beautifully moving day.
