Queen Elizabeth dies: Boris Johnson makes Parliament laugh with speech remembering Her Majesty
Queen Elizabeth dies: Boris Johnson makes Parliament laugh remembering Her Majesty | Boris Johnson joined parliament to pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth II.
King Charles maintains a clear sense of duty and service even as he mourns the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth, British Prime Minister Liz Truss said on Friday, having spoken to the nation's new monarch on Thursday evening.

Johnson is not fit to give tributes! Let's look at his behaviour Johnson lied to her in 2019 and caused her to break constitutional when he forced her to illegally prorogue parliament? Law breaking Johnson that partied and presided over parties while she set an example and mourned her husband alone. Johnson whose silly antics in refusing to resign resulted in her being dragged, at 96, to London to discuss every possible constitutional ramification and way of saving her country from him.

A speech that was not only wonderful but necessary for the world to be reminded of all the she had given and done for her beloved country.
As Dutchman, having lived 25 years in republics for work (France, Turkey & Bangladesh), I always say that the best and real democracies are the Western-European kingdoms. They are the most stable countries, with the happiest people. In the Netherlands, more than 78% of people are satisfied with the level of democracy (2019). And a comparable number of people is in favour of the monarchy. Who have the highest approval rates, that no president will ever reach, as they are political figures ? The European kings and queens. Having a prime minister with above her or him a head of state that can really be the seen as the embodiment and soul of a country: no republic can say, or has, the same. And it prevents us from having situations as in the USA or other republics, as France, where a president can take too much power as there is "nobody" above him anymore. But the UK has indeed been blessed with the most outstanding monarch, and yes, I too did shed a tear when I heard that H.M. Queen Elizabeth had passed away. She was a sort of "super"-queen among the monarchs.
@ryand141

I think you have a very naive and uninformed viewpoint. She didn't prevent the Iraq invasion when a million people were protesting in the streets, did she? She has no political influence at all. The crown was never her responsibility yet she did it better than Queen Victoria because Edward VIII decided to abdicate. Having lost her father and not even having the time to grieve, she ascended the throne at 25 and since then saw the world change around her. Having lost the close family one by one- father, grandmother, sister, mother and at last her husband of 70 plus years. She was surrounded by family yet alone since the passing of Duke of Edinburgh. She carried the crown all her life, through the toughest times though her actual passion lied in horses. She was so loved and cherished. I drew strength from her like many and found comfort. His speech, the one by Harriet Harman and the one by Theresa May were excellent. They showed the *human* side of the Queen. If I had one criticism of the Queen, it is that we didn't get to see enough of her as a spontaneous person, as opposed to hearing her reciting a speech that had probably been written by someone else (and if it hadn't been, it sounded as if it had). One advantage that Charles has is that he has lived a lot of his life free of the tighter restrictions of being monarch, so we have got to know him better as a person.

Daniel, beautiful to think
As an American, I have always appreciated and respected the historical role and cultural significance of Queen Elizabeth II and her family in British history. That said, Thursday was truly an auspiciously sad day for both the United Kingdom and the rest of the world, including my country, the United States of America. May G-d bless both her family and the people of Great Britain. Rest in Peace, Queen Elizabeth II (21 April 1926 - 8 September 2022). 🇬🇧 🇺🇸 "This royal throne of kings, this sceptred isle, This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars, This other Eden, demi-paradise, This fortress built by Nature for herself Against infection and the hand of war, This happy breed of men, this little world, This precious stone set in the silver sea, Which serves it in the office of a wall Or as a moat defensive to a house, Against the envy of less happier lands, This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England ... " -William Shakespeare (1564-1616), King Richard II (1595), Act II, Scene I

The Eton and Cambridge eloquence comes through magnificently! Thank you Boris!
What a great impassioned speech filled with eloquence to honor the deeply beloved and much admired late Queen! No one is perfect, let alone Boris but those who "stabbed him in the back" ought to look themselves in the mirror! My sincere heartfelt condolences to the Royal family on the passing of the late Queen who will be deeply missed, not only by the UK but globally as well.
Best words to ever come out of his mouth
Love him or hate him, Borris gave an amazingly sincere and heartfelt speech. 👏🏻 Rest in peace “Elizabeth The Great” and Long Live The King 🤴 🇬🇧
I was surprised that it upset me so much. I cried and cried. I live in the US, never really followed the Royal family so it surprised me how sad I am at her passing 🙏😭 RIP in peace Queen Elizabeth II-
Well done Boris! A great tribute to a great woman!
I have seldom heard his speeches but this one made me break out into a stream of tears once again. Truly a great tribute to a greater monarch. May she have her well deserved peaceful rest with her beloved husband in the heavenly abodes
