Well put, I worked with Ladizinsky before all of the fanfare and I remember his thirst for knowledge in physics. He worked with Phd's who had far more formal education than he, but he blew them out the water with his enthusiasm and love for the discipline. However, you're right as Lazinskiy is digging into a realm of intelligence that is not of God, and very dark, but will have a vast capability that will launch a technology that will kill freedom. Technology & Freedom are incompatible.

TheDamnSpot Dear Damn Spot, I really enjoy the interview, was very very inspiring and I totaly agree, that academia approach is not working, as was described by Eric in video. What I´m trying to tell is, that this D-Wave quantum computer is maybe the most dangerous weapon, and if it sell for money to anyone, who we do not know, what will use it for and there is something really dangerous and bad. But of course, it is not the mistake of Eric Ladizinsky, but his story is similar to IronMan movie. If Stark star to sell IronMan suit for money, it will be very dangerous, don´t you think? I hope, that now you will understand me much better. Wish you only the best!

***** Oh, okay. I understand what you're saying. Still don't agree though. Look at nuclear science. Sure, it brought us the atomic bomb, the cold war and an ever pervasive fear of rogue states and terrorists with WMDs. On the other hand it's also helped us create the modern PC, MRIs, treat cancer, power space vehicles, create particle colliders and on and on... Nuclear science is the foundation on which the modern world rests. Really useful stuff is... really useful. Both to good and evil people. Always fearing and restricting things that *could* be used for evil purposes rarely does any good. It just creates a black market for them and makes it harder for honest people to reap benefits from their use.

TheDamnSpot Yeah, but if we know that, had this expirence from the past, then we have to do the best to use the technology for good, to develop even better and usefull techologies. But if you see on D-Wave, all is behind the scene, we only know that NSA and Google, so the company that has all our data and other one want all data use it for something. Let not be blind, this is not good. What we are talking here is two things, and if we´ll melt them together, we are childish. 1. Thing is: Absolutly amazing thing was produce, that was only in sci-fi. Astonishing effort ... 2. How it will be use, for what? Yeah, unfortunatelly, if you produce something so briliant and ahed, you have to think about it in first place.

what if all waves do not collapse, but break down Infinitely? also, according to entanglement, since we can see and measure reality that means there is an equal but opposite measurement somewhere?

Scott Aaronson is a confirmed gadfly!. You should read the opinions of real experts in quantum computing, such as his colleague, Dr. Seth Lloyd, in his own Physics Dept. Please read his quote in their own MIT Technology Review, which can be found in the May 16, 2013 issue. Thanks.

It seems Schrodinger's cat just never gets any respect. Imagine you are the cat. When you're alive, you know you're alive. Wouldn't it seem that your own consciousness, on your own and separate from the observers outside the box dictate that you are existing in a material state only?
