Hi shea, I just discovered ur channel and im feeling so blessed. U inspired me to go back and learn italiano again from zero. Im a medical student here in morocco, and I love italy so much, I love their culture and food, I want to learn the language so bad but I have one problem is that I cannot find people to talk to, as many here do not care about Italy, and I do not want to forget the language, and I really need to find friends who share the language with me so that I can learn better. I just got back yesterday from my second trip to Italy this year. I know as a tourist I have a huge advantage over living there. I still would like to but only is my company lets me transfer. I want to learn the language more but I am thankful to have Italian friends willing to help me out 😊.

Brava Shea, sempre meglio. Non direi che non sembri italiana, ci sono tante ragazze esteticamente simili a te. Capisco invece le tue difficoltà a sentirti completamente integrata. La nostra cultura è millenaria e così le nostre tradizioni, usi e costumi, che ci rendono così unici e che impediscono ad uno straniero di sentirsi completamente a suo agio.

Hello Shea, i just discovered your youtube channell and i watched a few videos. Your italian is good and i'm sure in the future will get even better :) Unfortunately you are right when you said that in Italy easy staff can become unecessarily complicated ,and you're also right that italian salaries are low and young people go abroad to find better opportunities. I'm not young anymore (almost 33) but i decided go to university and study coding and then try my luck abroad. I hope one day i can follow your footsteps and manage to work from remote. What's your job ? Are you an "influencer"? I hope you are having a nice time here and keep it up the good work :)

Thank you! Coding is a great skill to have and I’m sure you will be able to find remote opportunities with that. Also, I think 33 is still young! As far as my job, I don’t consider myself an influencer really. I was working at a creative agency previously but now I freelance and do social media management/video content creation. So I help businesses with social media or help them create video content for advertising and marketing. KZread is just for fun and I occasionally do partnership videos with brands I use and enjoy 😊.

In pochi anni che sei qua (come mi pare di capire) hai inquadrato chiaramente i problemi grossi italiani! E che cio che i turisti vedono e quasi tutta "facciata" 1) La disorganizzazione 2) Burocrazia infinita 3)Mancanza di lavoro, salari da fame 4) Impossibilita ad andare a vivere soli 5)La guida, per guidare (specie a Roma) devi essere bravo come uno di Formula 1 lati buoni: 1 )Belle citta/panorami 2) Cibo (hai scelto una delizia La Carbonara)

Dont really worry about the ragaza americana part. You are not native italian and it is natural that some people may refer to your origin. Millions of different background people live abroad in europe and manage to integrate themselves in the community. Sure you may not reach that to 100 percent but you can get really close to that. Fun fact there could be a time when you go back in the US and americans call you italiana. I have experienced that already as Greek in Germany and back to greece. Also great choice with Bologna ( I did erasmus there ).

Italy and the US have a tax treaty so you won’t be double taxed. I have an accountant who helps me file in the US but I am a tax resident of Italy. So you always need to file in the US even though you might not owe anything because you live in another country and pay taxes there.

Il congiuntivo è un tempo verbale che la maggior parte degli italiani sbaglia quindi non ti preoccupare di quello!! Puoi avere la connessione internet a casa senza un conto italiano, puoi chiedere di farti arrivare la bolletta a casa e puoi andarla a pagare in posta o al tabacchino.

Bologna è stupenda....parli l'italiano meglio di molti italiani 👍
