The thought process behind not letting dually tires touch is: when your tires heat they do expand. When your tires expand on dually tires that are touching, those two beads could be seeing pressure pushing them off of the seat of the rim. Additionally, your lug nuts and rims will see additional pressure from the heat expansion besides the pressure they are already seeing from sandwiching the two tires together. This could lead to broken lug studs, or cracked rims. Its a “do at your own risk” deal. If you are checking your lugs and tires for issues before your wheel comes off on the road, then youll be safer than the “set it and forget it” guys

I'm a Process Engineer for a global tire manufacturer. I am in the earthmover spectrum... however I am trained in architecture and tire design. My best friends are tire designers for passenger car, light truck and earthmover tires. If you look at your video.. the pressure from the outer tire is changing the contact patch. The load of the tire is held from the air cushion between the rim and the contact patch of the tire... I will tell you this.. I have been in my profession for ten years... death by poor decisions by tire selection vs application is a very real thing... so much so lawyers make millions a year from it. You will be responsible for any failures that cause harm or death to someone... bora two inch spacers are a must. Sidewall rubber compound are typically only designed for sidewall marking that are required by federal law and per the manufacturer. Rapid Air loss or clevage is likely once you load the truck... simply due to the sag in the sidewalls will not be able to flex. Don't let a $250 fix define the rest of your or someone else's life! Looks great btw!

But if you and your buddy's aren't having any issues I'll try it. I tow a camper and I'm going to have a 25 foot gooseneck to pull my tractor to different jobs. But I swapped my truck to a 5 speed and my donor truck is a 3500 and I really love these trucks in a dually! So I'm making mine one. Your truck looks awesome man! And thank you for the advice

The trail blade is an attractive tire for the price, but everybody I know who has used them say they can’t be balanced right and you’ll have awful vibrations and what not. I personally test drove a lbz truck I was looking at buying and it had those trail blades on it, and the truck rode awful, bouncy, shaky, all over the road.. can’t say it was all the tires doing it, but I ended up passing on the truck cause I didn’t wanna buy a truck and immediately spend $1500 or so on good tires.

Yeah I totally agree with you, I had a few buddies give me crap about it but honestly it balanced really well, I think only 2 oz if that, and it rides really nice so far, brand new for 100$ hard to say no, if I get 6 months out of it that’s more than money’s worth so I’m not worried at all

I’m not arguing, I’m just saying I’m not ok with running 3 inch spacers the rear of a truck I tow with. Not safe, 35x12.5s touch at the bottom with a 2 inch spacer which is way more un safe than what I have going on
