The bananas flambé at 6:55 is from this restaurant. I encourage you to go to the Ambar Blue buffett on Tuesday night. This is their gala seafood night. A guy that goes by "Bubba" created and frequently updates a detailed Bahia - Punta Cana resort review. His review is pinned at the TripAdvisor Punta Cana forum and the Bahia - Punta Cana Facebook group. I feel it's worth finding and reading. If you can't find Bubba's review please email me and I'll send you a link to his write-up. Hope this helps. Have an awesome adventure.

Alex Cruz - thank you for your follow-up comment. Sounds like you found Bubba's write-up about Punta Cana and the Bahia resort complex. About tours, we purchased them through the resort as a package after we arrived. This is not the lowest cost option. From what I could tell, independent beach vendors were the lowest cost option. Buying through the resort was convenient. Hope this helps.

Whoa, I just read the Tripadvisor thread on drones in the DR. You did a very good job defending your drone use despite the childish pokes at you. Some people sure like to whine.

Doug, great video!! Appreciate the comment on mine! We had an awesome time but short. We really wanted to ride the horses but just to much time it would've taken. The amber hotel was very beautiful and had so much to offer. We took advantage of the water sports since it was part of the hotel and was very nice. My next goal is to get a drone to take better videos. Which one do you have? Also I used to work for air Wisconsin based in Appleton, WI, small world. Enjoy. 2 thumbs up!

Mark Lamberto thank you for checking out my video Mark. I wish we had time to try the kayaks or small hobie-cat sailboats. Maybe next time. My drone is the entry DJI Phantom 3 Standard. I went through the Dominican Republic to get a IDAC drone use permit and received written permission from the resort. I kept both printed and with me when I flew. I had no issue. Several people were curious, but none bothered. I did a total of three flights and picked up the Dominican Republic flag in my DJI log file which is cool. The DJI GO app keeps detailed flight logs, which I really like. Thank you for commenting on my video.

Tony Porter, thank you for your question and for watching my video. We arranged a 40 minutes private charter flight in a Bell 206 helicopter through Helidosa AG, Punta Cana 23000, Dominican Republic. This large helicopter is not normally used for tourists. Its quite deluxe and pricy to operate. It has air conditioning and we each had a headset so we could communicate with the pilot. During my negotiations with them about my video-recording needs, I agreed to not disclose the amount we paid. Tour operators in Punta Cana offer 10 minute flights in smaller helicopters as low as $89USD/person and the price includes transportation from and back to the main resorts in the Punta Cana area. This is the option most tourists on vacation select. Some resorts offer a 10 minute flight for sitting through a time-share presentation. Hope this answers your question Tony. Sorry I can’t give you a direct answer.

Doug my friend, awesome vacation subscribed to your channel. Hey on your time stamps if you add 0:00 start right above 0:18 first it will show up on the videotape line, not sure how to explain that. Hope you understand. Your video is real cool I love the music that you put with it. Where can I get that and not get a copyright strike. I also love you drone footage just be careful when you start making money you might want to looking getting a FAA 107 license I just found that out. I would like to get a drone and make some videos with it. Sorry I Do not write as much as you. Thanks again for watching my videos

Thank you Jim. Per your advice, I added 0:00 Start in my description. To avoid a copy strike, I do not monetize when I add copy written music, which sends the monetization to the music copy-write owner. I was FAA 107 but have let it lapse. If I ever choose to monetize, I can simply renew it. A freind who is really into the drone thing showed some statistics that very few people who got their FAA 107 bothered to renew it. By the way, outside of USA, the FAA 107 requirements do not apply. This most recent April fools day saw a lot of faux articles about NASA getting a fine from the FAA for not complying with the line-of-sight rule when they flew their drone on Mars, LOL. mchance1 Thank you for your comment. For us, and for most of the resort, the construction is a non-factor. We did hear people in the hotel lobby complain and request to be relocated. These people were in rooms at the property edge. They did not like the construction view, noise, and lighting aimed at their balconies. Paul Hackett thank you for checking out my video and commenting. As far as the drone, I received a Dominican Republic IDAC permit and Bahia Principe resort permission before we left home. I found the permit process lengthily and confusing because the application is only available in Spanish and I can only read English. Ultimately, a friend fluent in Spanish helped me complete the form then it was approved. Its debatable if you need a permit. At the resort, the only people that asked about it were fellow tourists. I do everything I can to isolate myself pre-flight, but during flight people approached me. Alan Weller Great question and good observation about the construction taking place next to Ambar Blue and Green. I assume you have been doing some studying and read about this concern somewhere such as TripAdvisor or the resort specific Facebook group. Very smart of you to do research in advance. To answer your question, the construction taking place on the property next to this resort did not bother us one bit. We were fine because our room was not next to the construction. Our room overlooked the resort. This resort is quite large. We couldn't hear or see construction form other parts of the resort like from the beach, pool, restaurants, etc. My experience may be out of date. For more recent information, consider joining the Facebook group called Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana. I found a group member from Canada that goes by "Bubba" to be most helpful. I found his comments to be accurate, his information insightful. If I were going back soon, I'd do some reading on resort specific forums to see if this construction is still a issue. If it is, I'd see what we could do to avoid it such as request a room away from the construction. Best wishes for having an awesome vacation.

Leon Taylor - thank you for taking your time to view my video and comment. The Bahia Principe resort complex has many parts, sort of like how Disney World has many different lands, all in the same park. Ambar Blue is the original adults only portion off the resort complex. Its closer to the beach. Ambar Green is newer and located further from the beach. As a Ambar guest, you can use all the amenities at either resort. Thank you for your question Leon.

We stayed at Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana. How did you like Ambar?

Rico Jewel Ambar is a adults only portion of the same resort at Grand Bahia Principe in Punta Cana. So its really a matter of weather or not you are traveling with family. We have children, but this was a adults only vacation. I think both Grand and Ambar are great choices.

Did you have any problems flying your drone there ? Like did you needed to unlock that area to fly or did you even have to request it to fly ?

Kenny Mercado - about the drone video content, I did get a Dominican Republic IDAC permit and Bahia Principe resort written permission before I left the USA. I kept a printed copy of these items with me when I flew the drone. That being said, no one ever asked me for anything. The area is not restricted airspace so I did not need to unlock anything in the DJI GO app. My DJI profile now includes the Dominican Republic flag as well as the USA flag. Kenny, to get the permit I started by emailing this address: Área de Atención Virtual Dirección de Transparencia y Atención Ciudadana Instituto Dominicano de Aviación Civil, IDAC DTAC@idac.gov.do 809-274-4322/3209, 3203 y 3210. Nuestro Horario de Servicios es de: 8:00 Am-4:00PM Instructions and the application are only available in Spanish.

Good stuff. Had to turn the "train wreck uncomplimentary music" choice however. I felt like running into a wall! (with hopes to silence the noise)! Then I remembered I had a mute button on this here computer thingy.

Bringing a woman to the DR is like bringing sand to the Sahara...lol. Check out all the people who dance like penguins - they'll all be gringos.
