i just wanted to say that since this video came out i come back to it at least once a year. i’m not an internet creator and i have no intention of being one but this video has consistently been a comfort video for me and it gets me re-inspired and motivated every-time i watch it so thank you

I commented on this video 5 years ago as a 14-year-old with a dream. And here I am chasing that dream down each and every day. I still have so much more to accomplish, but I have already built a company, made films, and created memories that I quite honestly didn't even know were possible 5 years ago. This video silently has carried me through it all. I just took a break from a late-night edit session because I remembered this video... Never give up.

When I was 18 years old I decided to open a small boutique in Boston with my life savings. In the beginning everything was going good but later on a life event happen and I had to close it for a period of time, once I opened it again everything I had worked so hard for was gone. I lost all my clients and I didn't have enough money to sustain my self while trying to build a new clientele so I had to get a day job. Eventually I could only open the store at night and it didn't work out. I ended up selling the store to a friend and I moved to a new state. 2 years has passed and I decided to open a new boutique again with the savings I collected these past two years. From day one everything has been extremely hard. I feel so tired all the time, and I don't see any results. I've burned all my savings trying to make this work out and I'm falling on the same steps as before. I had to get a job. I decided to do night shifts so I can stay all night and day awake and open the store in normal business hours with the hope that all my effort won't be wasted again. On the weekends I participate in fairs and relocate all the store stock to different places to spread the word and try to sell, and then at night before going to my work shift I re-assemble the entire store back so I can open again on Monday. I'm exhausted. Today I thought that I can't do this anymore. I thought to my self that it was insane of me not go to college and to decide to open a store. But then I saw this video, and it motivated me to work harder. Thank you Casey for being an inspiration, not only did you inspired me to start making KZread videos, but you also inspire me to fight for my insane dreams.

Husnu Coban I got my diploma when I was 17 years old. After I left school is started working straight away in a part time job, then after a while I started working on a second job that an acquaintance introduced me to. I worked for an entire year and when I received my tax return I had enough to open a store. My old store was in a very hidden location on the second floor of a commercial building but I managed to make it work with publicity and word of mouth. The city hall also supported me a lot and introduced me to many events so I could get the word out.

Someone once told me I couldn't run a marathon. To the left is a pic of my Pittsburgh marathon finisher's medal.

I shared this with my son years ago. I wanted him to see the possibilities that we didn't see growing up. My husband and I often talk about the limitations for jobs when we were in high school. You take a quiz, it spits out results, maybe 15 choices if you were lucky. Young people are so fortunate today, you get to color outside the lines, pave your own path, there is so much more freedom for career choices thanks to the internet. Thanks for making this video, now my son is a huge fan of yours!
