As of this day in March,to May 15,2004..... twenty years have gone by. Jones vs. Tarver 2 is like the fights my Dad and I saw back in the day with Sugar Ray. Dad said watch this man put that Duran bum in his place. Dad did not jump out of his chair just pointed at the TV and said "See what I mean ?" and just giggled like a kid with his hand in the cookie jar. Then watched this fight and got all the same attitude. Miss those times most of all after he went forever on patrol. Boxing,Formula 1,DTM ( German Touring Car ) and the Isle of Man TT on TV at 4am live views here were best of times.

There's nothing shocking here, it is the nature and intent of the sport to incapacitate the opponent. This video shows why boxing is a blood sport almost guaranteed to cause brain damage. The soft brain matter is cushioned inside the hard skull, mostly by water. Any boxer, and especially one who is not adequately hydrated, could be at risk for brain damage from blows which accelerate the skull into soft tissue, either from the impact of one punch, several punches, or a lifetime of many impacts from punches of a degree necessary to damage the soft tissue within the skull. It is no different from the broken hand bones which some fighters suffer from their own punches striking bony surfaces either one time or multiple times.
