Hey everyone, THIS is my homemade Shock Gauntlet. It works like this! BRRRRAT! I have put so much time and effort into this build. I couldn't have done it without the help of HackPGH. There's still some improvements that I want to make, but I think this is pretty nice for a first prototype. Comment below on other gadgets that you think I should make. I hope that you consider liking this video and sharing with your friends. Welcome to my channel if you're new! Please subscribe for more!
3D printing allows me to collaborate with other makers even if we can't meet up in person. I definitely took inspiration from Captain Intrigue's original stun glove design and applied it to my own ( Show shock button on side) His latest project is a high tech helmet that includes night vision, super sonic hearing, and a voice changer. Subscribe to his channel to stay updated with all of his future projects!

This is definitely one of the coolest gadgets you've made recently, great job! For a cool improvement (though definitely not the most practical), you could add some sort of big wolverine-like claws to the gloves that would get electrified, so you get big electrified claws. I think, alongside making new designs, it would be pretty interesting to see you revisit old creations and see what improvements can be made to them, if any.

Would making something like a faraday cage around the parts being fried help you in this situation? It goes without saying that you'd want a strong insulator between the circuitry and the faraday cage. Probably might want to use em shielded wires as well.

Could you mount that inside of a metal gauntlet kind of like a knight would wear? Also, if you wanted to jack up the voltage, say if you wanted to knock something bigger than a human out, how would you go about doing it? Also, is there a way to manually adjust the voltage on the fly? Like if you just wanted to use it to interrogate but not knock out a prisoner, but then you needed to jack the juice back up in order to use it on a different opponent.

From the design, it appears to me as if it will place undue stress on the knuckle joints if used to strike with force. Perhaps moving the contact points back slightly so that it would rest similarly to brass knuckles against your fingers.

You should look at moldmaking. It wouldn't be difficult to carve a two part negative out of wood, create a silicone mold, and then create a silicone-rubber composite from the mold. It would let you do some slightly more advanced stuff using both flexible and insulated parts.

I tried building a simplified and more basic version of this, for proof of concept, However when I push the button to allow electrical flow, I notice that the metal strips inside the bread I use starts to heat up and nearly melt immediately. At first it was because it was an incomplete circuit, but when I complete it (closed circuit) the button nearly melts. Do you know what I might be doing wrong?
