Pull-ups are great but have you tried…
1. Swinging
2. One Arm Head Taps & Pocket Slaps
3. Hanging Shoulder Twists
Hanging from a bar in different variations has loads of benefits for the shoulders and spine. Have you ever played with these 3?

  • @nightshade7092

Try losing weight and managing your diet if you haven’t already as RA symptoms can be exacerbated by certain foods. Eat a diet rich with anti inflammatory foods, like antioxidants, omega3fatty acids etc and note your flare ups. I’d suggest doing exercises like push-ups with resistance bands and if the normal variation is too hard try regressing to knee push-ups or even wall push-ups. You’re probably already going on swims but if not try to go swim more often, it’s a great workout and especially great for people with RA since it’s easy on the joints. Do a lot of mobility work and I mean a lot, static and active stretches to improve your mobility and perhaps you can try to wear braces which can help brace your joints for certain bodyweight movements? Though, sometimes braces can worsen your symptoms if you do certain exercises with them, so I don’t really know Most importantly, don’t give up. Its crazy how big of a difference you can make with just will power and hope alone on your body, the placebo effect is very real. Keep on fighting, best of luck to you on your fitness journey

Hey g, not sure how old you are. Im 26 with RA and building muscle/strength as well as dietary changes, biggest being diving into a more carnivore diet has really helped managed my symptoms. Used to be on those shitty meds like methotrexate but have been off them and maintaining a healthy amount of weight training, swimming and diet. I've been wanting to start stretches to increase joint mobility since some joints like my elbows are limited in mobility from the RA.

For anyone feeling icky about Tim's appearence on the strength side channel: Sure he has done some questionable actions in the past and most likely still isn't perfect but well, nobody is. Everyone is on a journey, some are trying more fringe activities because the mainstream doesn't satisfy them. And I can't blame them. I believe Tim has a lot of value to share, and I believe Josh sees this also. So be open minded, don't judge only on previous experience but see the information that he shows you for what it is: just information. You can do with it what you want.
