Public Speaking: Breathing from your diaphragm

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Breathing from your diaphragm for public speaking is something you can learn. By understanding and controlling your breath you will improve your vocal projection and reduce your anxiety and fear when public speaking.
Belly breathing is a type of breathing that is more efficient than chest breathing and can help calm your nerves. To practice belly breathing, sit or stand up straight with your shoulders relaxed, place one hand on your chest and the other on your abdomen, breathe in and focus on expanding your belly, and breathe out while contracting your stomach.
Regular practice can help you improve your public speaking skills, including vocal projection, reduced anxiety, and increased confidence. Check out the public speaking guides and tips available through the links provided in this article.

Kirsty, when talking using the diaphragm, are you talking on the exhale? 😎

Both when you breathe in and breathe out Vs. Raising your shoulders. You breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. Place your hands on your diaphragm and focus on feeling your breath here instead of shallow chest breaths.
