The chamfered side of the connecting rod ALWAYS goes against the crankshaft. That chamfer in conjunction with a narrowed bearing clear the "fillet". "Fillet" is an engineering term and is pronounced "FILL-it"! "Fil-Ay" is a culinary term!
Are these teksid 96-98 blocks stronger than the 03-04 crobas? Thanks

I would say they are at least as strong as the iron blocks and possibly stronger, but I do not know for sure. What I do know is they are half the weight of an iron block and they are capable of handling over 2,000 horse power.
