With entry of anime styling, Psycho Soldier is a weird platform game, one where the screen constantly scrolls to the right.
The player must defeat enemies using Athena's psycho powers and navigate safe passage between multiple platforms. Platforms often contain blocks which must either be destroyed to allow progress, or avoided if indestructible.
One of the most interesting things about the game is the music, accompanied with vocals, singing over the backing track.

Trivia: This was a follow up to SNK’s “Athena.” The female lead, Athena Asimaya, was the mortal modern incarnation of the Goddess Athena from the first game. Athena and her partner, Sie Kenyon, would be in the “King of Fighters” games often fighting for China’s teams or two of the “Psycho Soldier Team.” Her most recent appearance was with other females in SNK’s recent “Tag Team Heroines” game for the Switch.

It's a pity she sucked so badly in KoF '94 though, even being robbed of her sailor suit because the Americans objected to it. We had to wait years before she became even halfway decent to play. (T_T)
Probably inspired by Son Son, an earlier coin-op by Capcom which continually scrolls the screen along whilst you jump between platform levels.

I think this was the pseudo-sequel to "Athena", which came out in 1986

Yes, as far as I know this a sequel of sorts to a previously released arcade game called "Athena" and it stars the protagonist from that game who also made appearances in most King of Fighter games and SNK Heroines.
It remembers me too much to Alyssa Dragoon. I honestly didnt likevthis Game. But i appreciate tjsylt you played It.

KOF를 망친 최악의 주범 게임. 이 게임은 애초에 나오지 말았어야만 했다. 특히 아테나와 켄수는 이후 KOF로 넘어가서 악독한 성격의 선역이 된다. 차라리 야마자키 류지가 훨씬 선량하고 훌륭한 대인배로 보이는 눈의 착각을 일으킬 정도로 아테나와 켄수는 쓰레기인데 경박죄를 저지르는 흉악범들이다.
