To be fair to us, Dortmund gave us every single reason to doubt them in the past 12 months. From bottling the league last year to their horrendous league form this season to being in the Group of Death, there was no reason to think Dortmund would come anywhere near the final, but the CL-anthem made them go Super Saiyan this season. And while i I still don't think they'll win as it'd be stupid to bet against Real Madrid, I really hope Dortmund can do it.

I myself doubted them all season and I owe them an apology, I wasn't familiar with their game. I really bet against them in every clash bar PSV and they still managed to make it so far, Real Madrid never lose finals so I don't think that I'm in the wrong this time for doubting them but you never know, really.

I think saying never is a bit dramatic. They have the resources to continually target it until they do, it might not be in the next 5 years maybe but eventually they will get there. It took 9 years for Chelsea to win it after the Roman take over and 15 years for City to do it after the UAE takeover. PSG could very well be European champions 10-15 years from now. But to say never ever with no possibility of them ever winning it after they make it to the semi-finals doesnt seem right.

Longtime PSG fan here for my annual long response to Maqwell's continuation of his magnum opus (I got a reply from him last year, so I'm doing something right): 1. We gotta stop pretending FFP doesn't exist, even if it is currently not perfect (it has statistically improved A TON the last three years). Barcola was 40m, total net spend was 247m if you ignore the sell-on clauses of Diaby and Nkunku (about 40m total). Our net spend on transfers is almost half of Chelsea the last five years, five EPL clubs have a higher net spend. It was our wage bill w/ MNM that was really the issue. Best part of this season was beating OM twice and seeing the work rate from a bunch of young players who care, Maqwell got that spot on. 2. Everyone talks about the really weak handball at the end of the Newcastle game, but no one cares to discuss the previous two penalties waved off earlier in that half? We've already established that the ref that day was terrible, so what makes you think he got the first two (actually legitimate penalties) calls correct since he couldn't get the last one right? xG is not the "be all end all" but we cleared that group on xG difference (and were 3rd of all 32 group stage teams). Review all data from matchday 5 or none at all, cherry-picking the VAR call you want to make your point is literally a sign of intellectual laziness. In a courtroom where all evidence is reviewed, those who claim NUFC were robbed in that match would be laughed out of the room for confirmation bias. 3. We've statistically had the hardest RO16 draws in the last 15 years despite winning our group over half the time. Remember when we topped the group over Bayern? They got one of the Turkish clubs (won 8-0 on agg.), we got Madrid going for the three-peat. This is just one of four examples that come to mind. 10:10 what black magic were other clubs doing to get us the toughest draws for 8 of the last 10 years? 4. How to beat PSG this year- take lots of corners and force us to attempt to cross the football. 11:28 that was not a "gift" of a red card, Barcola earned that. He's only scored every single goal for us just like that this year, so you bet he was scoring again until that foul. 5. Our backline is easily the most experienced unit on our squad, yet they were the worst of all units in the UCL this season. No wonder we're all talking about signing Yoro, Diomande, or Silva in the summer. Our xG in the tie vs Dortmund was 5.3 to 2.4, we just weren't clinical. Tough. Youngest team in a UCL SF since 2009 though, the future is bright. 6. Leonardo was sporting director for far too long. All he did in his second stint was sign old guys to huge deals, then they'd quickly regress. Now Campos and Enrique are left picking up the pieces, which they honestly did pretty well at this year. Mbappe makes 72m a year, that's more than Haaland, De Bruyne, and Vini combined. Not the worst thing ever saving all that money. We're clearly moving in the right direction, allez Paris.
