The most important thing was the recording quality, actually I have a 4K TV & a PS4 Pro and still play in 1080p because I have to use an external recorder (Elgato Game Capture Card) if the PS5 can record up to 60 frames per second then that means I can finally play and record in 4K at the same time which is INCREDIBLE! If I wanted to go out and buy a 4K 60fps recorder I'd need to spend at least $400 and it still won't be very useful.. now all I hope for is that it records in 60 fps so that I don't have to buy a new recorder!!

The bit rate is very important at 4K because the XBOX ONE X recorded at 24mbs which was no good and the recordings were horribly pixelated, so i would say 50mbs minimum would be good on the new consoles, but they probably won't have that high a bit-rate - I hope i am wrong.

@@Verlesen the elgato hd 60s is what I've been using for two years now.. it's a very good recorder no doubt about it.. but the problem is you can't play in 4K and record in 1080p at the same time.. once you plug in your recorder you're gonna play and record at 1080p.

Game statistics that Sony provides at the end of each year clearly proves that even PS4 has playtime tracking under the hood, but either they didn't bother to make it available for users during multiple firmware updates or it is just not available for all games.

Ghost of Tsushima recently added playtime info on each of the saves, so you can see how long you've played the game on a particular save. I could be wrong, but I think that's the first time I've seen playtime tracking on a Playstation console before.

PS3 days where you sit on a game and hear it's music... I love this console so much already.

@Ewan Nice, PS3 is still worth going to. You can even upgrade your HDD to a ssd. It'll be a great time.

Gamehub music was my favorite small detail in PS3. Its good they brought it back on ps5.

the trophy process tracking is a really sweet detail and i love the "mute all sounds" function with the mute button!! it might sound like a small, niche detail, and it kinda is, but sometimes you just need silence and turning off the tv/headset isnt too optimal. nice! the game music thing is pretty cool.

My favorite feature would be able to get the damn thing!

@@luczids4258 - Maybe it’s my setup, but I find that feature on the PS4 jumps to insane volume... if I’m not wearing a headset, I’ll scroll over a game and my speakers get blasted. Not unlike when watching a drama and a commercial comes on at twice the volume of what you are watching. Hopefully there’s some consistency there.

I really think trophies should be made so that you can convert them into a kind of store currency, kind of what steam does for when you buy games. A lot more people would want to complete a game if it meant something like being able to unlock a cool theme or Avatar.

they already have this feature.. you get points for trophies you earn to buy stuff from the sony store..and most sony exclusives have some type of reward you get for earning a platium in said game..like themes and avatars..download sony rewards app and sign up.

@@supremeaxiom Are you sure about this? I may be missing it but I downloaded the Sony Rewards app but didn't find anything about points you can earn by unlocking trophies. The only way it says you can earn points is by buying stuff. And it's only available in the US unfortunately.

Dude I finally got one and the satisfaction is amazing.

I am very excited for the adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. The possibilities, if used right, seem to be endless. How scary games will have specific feedback when being stalked, or guns running out of bullets, the feeling of a door being locked when you turn it, or stabbing different types of enemies that give different types of resistance or feel. Not all games will have this of course, but I hope exclusives will go all out with those two features.

I mean, the default difficulty is normal, you can turn it's to easy mode by getting broken mechanic like magic, the rapier from DS2 or the twinblade from DS3 lol. Or turn it's to hard mode with the bell and no charm in Sekiro.

The fact that the controller has texture in the form of small PS symbols is so silly and yet I love it. I'm really eager to try out the adaptive triggers as well.

The feature I'm most excited about is the one where it goes into my entertainment center 🤣

Omg I love the music part, the AWESOME hidden compartment, and I can't wait to experience the awesome-sounding haptic feedback for myself!!!!

I must say I really dig a global preferences setting for things like Inverted Y Axis as I sometimes find myself going between two games at the same time where one differs from the other, as some games, especially remasters, make this change hard to find in their own menu systems

I use to connect my PS3 and PS4 via optical cable to my blu ray home cinema set to have 5.1 dts hd surround sound. How am i suppose to have dolby surround now on PS5 when they did not put in optical output??

The thing I'm most looking forward to? A PS5 sitting in the row of consoles hooked up to my 4k TV. That, and being able to retire my PS4. The PS3 might not get retired just yet, since I mostly use it to play PS1 and PS2 games right now. Oh, and a few PS3 games.

Game hub music was a feature on the ps3 and ps4. Wasn't called that, but when you hover on a game on ps3, a background sometimes would pop up with music and on ps4 when you press down on a game. Nice to see it staying.

One feature I love is the ability to hold down the mute button to mute the entire system, that is an amazing quality of life improvement. That being said one shortcut ability I would personally like to see involves using the often neglected TouchPad. For instance, what if while on the home screen, we could use 2 fingers on the TouchPad and swipe either left and right or up and down to quickly adjust the system' overall volume and screen brightness? That would be awesome to quickly quiet the tv or tone down the brightness due to changes in your playing environment. Those are just major settings that would be nice to be accessible quickly without going through menus or grabbing your TV remote.

I'd be surprised if you don't end up getting 'em on the 12th too.

I'm so excited that I was able to snag both next generation consoles and will pick them up on their respective launch days. I have to say that both Microsoft and Sony really brought out the big guns here. When companies fight this hard for our dollars we the consumers win. No matter which console you choose (or both like me) this generation is going to be absolutely glorious. Both have the power under the hood to push beyond what we have witnessed before and the speed that we as gamers have been dreaming of since the dawn of gaming.

After them pushing Japan to not have O for Confirm and X for Back anymore, I just had to say it. Alternatively, I wish all PS5 games will have controller remapping.

Seeing as how decent titles cost $100’s of millions and years to develop, it’s not that big of a thing. Couple more coders at $50K/yr.. It’s going to hurt the indies, OR their cards aren’t going to be that great.

Is the camera invert setting for vertical only or can you invert horizontal too?

Anyone know how to get 4k recording onto KZread as the ps5 records in a different file format when you switch to 4k

They should add a feature where you get a % discount on all games the more trophies you collect.

The obvious highlight here was the KZread support. You can make youtube content on this thing without a capture card or any crazy equipment. You can record video at full resolution and framerate and even stream the console directly to youtube or twitch without any extra peripherals. That's just amazing.

FYI relating to number 5 you can also set the default to have the mic on the controller muted when you turn on the console :)

can we set up and play/save games without an internet connection on this console. I have no internet.

If you're using a headset, does the controller's mute button still apply to the headset as well?

I've had this ps5 for a while now and never knew the microphone button was clickable. I just did it now after watching this. Wow

Sad part is if you don’t have a 4K tv you won’t be able to enjoy graphics and speed of the ps5 anyway

@@Buzz69Lightyear Most likely talking about the console's support for 120Hz. That said, the 120Hz support is separate from the 4K, and can be achieved without it. However, I don't know of any actual TV with real VRR that isn't 4K already, so this guy might have a point.

Wait so is game switch like quick resume or do you have to start the game from those preset locations

What is the size of the screw in case one does lose it or will there be replacement screw?

I got my pickup appointment email a couple days ago. Now I don’t have to pop into my email 3X day to make sure my digital receipt hasn’t somehow disappeared. 😂

With the game hub music the ps3 did that in 2006

The ps4 also do it when you go to the info menu of each game.

Thanks guys. Please can you tell me how I can hook the PS5 up to my surround sound system? I currently connect my PS4 to my AV receiver via the optical out port but I've discovered that the PS5 doesn't have one. Standard stereo sound through the TV monitor is dull and I'd like to experience games in surround sound for an immersive experience.

In the settings menu you can also set the mute button to on or off as standard

I've read there's a feature called homeshare where one person buys a game and you can share it within the same ip address. I don't know about ps plus sharing yet.

I hope they make more PS5's available soon, I want to give Sony my money.

They will bro, places like target and Walmart already confirmed that they are restocking on launch day for those who did not get a chance to pre order the ps5, so don't lose hope.

@@user-bc2if4vb2i Didnt Sony put out a statement saying retailers are only allowed to sell consoles ONLINE for launch. Because that's gonna be difficult, hopefully people can get theirs, but be ready for possible site crashes so be aggressive and persistent
