make more vids like this. pros and cons, tips and tricks, stuff to do or not to do or say. i really love those vids. im got my OW cert in october and now since i live in sweden it is too cold and i dont wanna invest in drysuit so early into the hobby, so i use this site to keep my interest for scuba diving while not being able to dive. P.S im here for sean's sense of humour :P

I got started today in my first pool session. I can already see how carrying your “kit” to a dive site could suck. I think the payoff is worth it, though. Things pay off when you put effort into them. Speaking of hashtags, I’m starting the #certifyShaun hashtag. Yeah, Shaun needs to dive.

Con: you sound like spongebob with a full face mask

Pro: diving is awesome and you can prove, with an underwater camera, you got to hug a dolphin. Con: when you hum theme songs (usually by John Williams or 80's TV show themes), you go through your air supply quicker.

could u make a vid on the most common situations that goes wrong and how to best handle it? such as a freezing reg. what sort of problem both minor and major could u as a diver expect, only talking about the tech not your health

Con/pro : makes you rethink your life choices I always thought I would end up being an engineer or a doctor since Im good at school and I was pushed into that direction until I got into scuba diving and I participated in a scientific diving program over summer now I want to pursue marine biology after high-school , excellent choice in my opinion but My parents arent really the biggest fans of the idea

I just have seen an excavator under water. Sooo you can see everything down there 😜 It was there because they lost it as they had to bring it off the island

For travel, have you ever priced out shipping your gear ahead if time? Curious if it is reasonable to do or just package everything up and pay for an extra checked bag. Thanks for the great channel.

Is there a dock or a road that ends at a beach? Get yourself a underwater metal detector and find gold ! I came across the activity by chance Lots of brides to be or even married women found out there significant other was cheating on them went to the end of the road or to the end of the dock and threw there rings in the water There are rings thrown off every beach or dock Depending on the anger involved could be a simple plop straight down or 50 to 60 ft out START EXPLORING !

@@evimarioli3039 when I first discovered this I dove off a public beach on a shipwreck with some buddies the ship wrecks was beside the dock on the south side off the harbour the 4 of us attracted a crowd with all our gear nextt time i got n the water by myself on the north side of the harbour went to the bottom swam across the mouth of the harbour to the shipwreck and back nobody on the public beach even knew I was there going by the end of the pier what I thought was a fish lure was a 3/4 carat gold diamond ring (Took while to figure out how it got there?) I hocked it at the pawn shop I got a small underwater metal detector and if nobody is fishing off the pier or any pier I go looking for rings they are also thrown off bridges every doc beach or bidge with public access has them (you might get 3 or more every time if you are by a city there could be hundreds) along a public beach I snorkel along the shore going back and Forth up to 60 feet out (a lot of golf balls ) have fun diving and have a great day!

Speaking of smelly kits...is it wise to put your gear in a tub of fresh water and add in a speck of bleach to the water?

Why bleach? I clean my kit with fresh water, and I add a sprinkle of laundry detergent to my wet suit, boots, gloves, hoodie

Hmm never thought of it this way, but bleach will definitely ruin something, it's too strong for neoprane, a little bit of laundry detergent does the trick for me, and don't worry about anything alive, they're probably dead by the time you get home from your dive trip 😝 Full disclaimer: my dive shop guy told me multiple times to not use laundry detergent, I have had my wet suit for 3 years now, I dive with it approximately 40 - 50 dives a year, i live in a hot so I don't always need it, so it gets washed 5 times a year or so and it's still as new.

I handwash my neoprene suits with shower products (shampoo or soap), much milder than laundry detergent. It is enough to remove that dodgy smell. You're not trying to remove dried tough stains, so no need for aggressive laundry detergents. My undersuits go in the washer. All my other gear just gets soaked and rinsed in fresh water. Bleach will quickly kill your gear. There is a reason people are not happy to take their diving kit to swimpools for teaching/training. Bleach is highly corrosive so it shouldn't be applied to anything metallic. It also reacts with the sunlight to speed up the destruction of fabrics. Anything that touches bleach needs to be rinsed very thoroughly.

A good way to get your wet suit boots to not smell like a swamp is to pour some mouthwash into them.
