Well my biology stuff is very basic, high school level. Easy to teach myself out of a textbook. Chemistry is the only subject where I go into some depth.

I should point out that I don't mean any disrespect by my post. I tend to do a quick KZread search of the topics covered in my lectures - I know my students will do the same when they study and I want to address any issues that might pop up. Carbonyl does have at least three common pronunciations (although most of the English speaking world does say car-bon-ill.). Amide, however, is almost universally pronounced with a long 'i'. You appear to be absolute in how these words must be pronounced, but I think you'll find that upwards of 3/4 of the world will disagree. This may cause confusion for much of your audience. Just something to consider. Cheers.
