Professor! THANK YOU for this and honestly ALL of your mechanism videos. You’re very knowledgable about this otherwise difficult course subject, and you have helped me and at least three of my classmates. I doubt you’ll see this, but had to put this somewhere out there. You’re the best!

Hi, Pr Dave! it's not about this video, but I'm curious about one thing and I have no idea who I need to ask for😄 I'm going to try make homemade soap from used cooking oil. it could contain some food parts and of course it's gonna be filtered but as I know it's not enough to get really clear oil. my question is about how dangerous could be this soap, what do I need to expect and how could I use it? thank you for your answers, it is very important for me!😊

I have a quick question: What would happen if acid were added to a soap “molecule?” Also, how would I draw the structure of the resulting molecule? Would it be able to clean as well as regular soap? I think adding acid to a soap molecule would create a weaker soap if the amount of lye is not increased to accommodate the acid, right? But I have no idea what to draw, nor what exactly would happen. I'm curious to know what would happen if I added citric acid to soap.
