If you want to get a little more fancy, you can always drill out all those holes on the flash suppressor, or just fill them in with black paint.

Just got finished making this, very satisfied with the end result, for the cost you cannot beat how awesome it looks, makes a really great piece to hang on a wall, I recommend to anyone considering to do this to jump on it and do it, tons of fun and inexpensive to make. :) ALSO thank you Bill so much for these tutorials, I've learned so much! :D

This video pushed me over the edge and I started my first prop build a few weeks after I watched this! Thanks for the inspiration

This was a great project for my son and I. The results are amazing. The mustard is the key to making the gun look authentic. Great tutorial!

Was able to score a used blaster at my thrift store for $1.29. Muzzle was snapped off so I bought a second Star Wars blaster with a different muzzle and with the magic of glue, I made a “universe worthy” blaster and the painting and weathering from this video helped make my favorite prop I’ve built to date. Thanks Punished Props! ❤️

I drilled out all the little holes on the blast suppressor which adds a nice look plus gave me a place to hang the gun from with out drilling through the handle.

Thanks for posting! This is super helpful as I'm doing the same thing with a cheap toy Leia blaster.

I thought I would share the Solo Blaster I built based on your tutorial. I of course took the liberty of adding a few personal touches. Mirrors on the ends of the scope, and a different sound card. Gold accents on the blaster for my wife's Glam Solo cosplay at Scum and Villiany Cantina. Thanks a bunch for the great video! I can't seem to paste a pic here, but I'd love to show you the completed product.

Huzzah, thank you thank you for the mustard tip, I have been looking for a alternative to the hairspray and salt method for some texture now. also 645 is my favorite number.

I just found your video - it is great. I did this project on my channel too but I wish I had added the weights in the handle like you did
