I grew up in France, born here obviously, so I speak french, english, arabic (since moroccan) and currently am learning chinese.     'They' is not a person, it is a group of people... And for your information, 'it' is not just an object, it's also a child/kid, so it's easier to extend the use of this pronoun instead of using a plural one, and make things hard to understand.​ @@stephaneboisjoli1320

What they failed to mention is that while “they/them” are gender neutral They have a plurality to them. This doesn’t apply to people with split personality disorder. What we need to do as a society is stop conforming to nonsense and get these people the psychiatric help they need.

    Sorry in school I was taught they/them are plural pronouns. Until someone can explain a legitimate reason for a single entity to be called a plural pronoun.I choose to use the persons proper name and no pronouns to describe them. Maybe try inventing a new one.

    There are only 2 pronouns : He and She. It is a pronoun used for dogs, cats and other animals and also non living objects.

    Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer, end of 14c used all pronouns described here. Problem was however, it created a "them", therefore creating an "us", hence it went out of fashion and use. Politically it plays into the hands of dividing folk.

    It is grammatically incorrect, and pronouns have a purpose and a specific function in a sentence. If you’re identifying as two separate people they have a name for that as well. It’s called split personality disorder.

    here's how it was explained to me that made sense: "they" is fitting for a "he-she" because there's 2 pronouns in use.

    There are additional definitions that correspond to the video's use of the terms, but you seem to have omitted those. They have also been used for hundreds of years. Check the Oxford English Dictionary, or others.
