An excellent documentary highlighting a devastating issue. I have written a chapter book, called 'Sophie's Cause', which is for children aged 5 plus. It heavily features the orangutans in Borneo and the problems with the palm oil industry. I am still looking for a literary agent to take it on (fingers crossed), as I completely believe that children care far more than we give them credit for. Thank you for making this documentary. People can't make changes if they don't realise what the problems are. My shopping is now completely palm-free, it was difficult, as products aren't always labelled as having palm in them, sometimes palm is given a different name, but I've done it. As a consequence, my Dad then started shopping for palm-free products, then my sister, then her friend. We CAN make a difference. It just takes one person to decide to start.

This is a great doco, the team effort makes it well worth watching. Thanks and good luck for your future ventures. Yes it is difficult to watch some of the harrowing scenes but the whole palm oil business and its threat to the ecosystem is complex. And if corporations wont do the right thing by the people and the animals of Indonesia (and they wont) then we all need to check our pantries and see how much palm oil we use! Start there! and make changes that benefit the welfare of all. We in the west in particular are guilty of aiding and abetting these practices by being lazy and frankly selfish.

Great program. Very well done and informative. But one small thing-around the 26:30 mark: the sun bear. As cute as this cub is, the adults are extremely vicious omnivores who attack without provocation and are one of the most dangerous animals in the jungle. I’m truly glad they are able to help her and others like her, but facts should also be explained. We tend to Disney-fie wildlife sometimes, much to our own peril. If you see a sun bear-or ANY bear, do NOT approach, no matter how cute they appear.

You can see how sweet these Orangs are and they don't act like a spoiled brat. I just hate hoe these adorable, smart animals are treated. I know the Macaques breed like there's no tomorrow. They are so overpopulated and act like entitled brats. They scream, squeal and are total gluttons. My sweet Orangutans are limited as to where to live due to deforestation. They don't throw tantrums or act like entitled brats that expect humans to feed them. These cute guys laugh, they are laid back and I love and feel their warmth when they smile as they look at those who rescue them. You can clearly look into their eyes and see the depth of their soul.❤ These are my favorite wild animals that are part of the "Great Apes". Greed, the governments in these countries, and the people ripping out the forest, the orangutans, Sun bears, all animals from the forest. Yes they should plant the forest back
This is so sad, yet I'm encouraged that some of us are working to bring our cousins back from extinction. It would be a tragic irony if these primates were driven to extinction by other primates. And as time goes on, we are finding out that conserving rainforests are in our mutual interests. We need to think and try to make intelligent choices.
