Mazda Miata just kidding ignore this sentence LOL but seriously I would say a Nissan 350Z is the best project car. That's because it's the modern Nissan 240SX according to some people's perspective. You can get them for almost dirt cheap but low mileage ones can cost more, trust me I've seen it and I hope y'all can somewhat agree with me on this.

Don't look for a base model one. Look for the ones with at least the Z51 package. Better suspension, and the differential is a higher ratio for better acceleration. Parts for pop up head lights on C5's are getting scarce.

@@Dcc357 Of course, manual and Z51 are essentials. Really all depends on total price (vehicle plus needed upgrades.) C6 Z06 working down to 2000s base C5.

yeah man i do too but honestly, if covid didnt hit this mercedes would have FUCKED me. i had to order a clone Star disgnostic machine just to be able to scan it. It gets here tomorrow, maybe next week itll be boosting again

Just started my c5 build! Found a super clean low miles and cali garage kept example to start with. I’ve already done a decent amount and it’s a stunner!

You said rx8 and the beautiful sound of a rotor hit my ears as a white rx8 drove by me.

Just picked up an ‘85 300zx, haven’t done a whole lot yet, but the pop up headlights just make me smile... as it sits on jack stands waiting for tires and suspension bits 🥲

My first big project is currently a retired 09 police Dodge Charger. I recieved it with no engine but everything else included. Just recently finished putting in a 5.7 hemi from a Chrysler 300 and started it for the first time. Still have alot of work to do but I'm having alot of fun with, especially considering I've never remotely been interested in owning a Dodge.

I already have one project, I closed my Craigslist tabs so that I'm not tempted 😅 I need to finish and get my '66 AMC Marlin on the road first 🤣

I have a '94 vr4 that I'm currently building for track and I can agree with what Alex said. This car has been an AMAZING project car that flew just under the radar so not all the parts have been marked way up. Love it. Would recommend

@@chrishasflo8170 An SL would be easier to learn on because theres a little more room without the turbos and piping and the car will be more forgiving plus does have the option to turbo later. or you could do what i did and just sent it on the twin turbo VR4 with slightly more than basic mechanical knowledge and praying lol. the community is pretty great and helpful when you need it. just be prepared for a lot of bloody knuckles cause there is not a lot of space to work with

2004 5spd is300... it’s a blast refreshing the suspension and engine! They don’t need much to make it a fun car and look good

Picked up an rx8 couple months ago so far it’s going goodish, it’s on stands right now but should be up and running by Monday 👌🏼

The Series II RX8’s are very nice cars. The interior is still cheap and strange, but it drives and looks well

I had a first Gen RX8. I loved that car. Great handling-loved it! Only complaint is it was under powered. Also loved the uniqueness of the rotor.

At least they havent ruined the pontiac GTP v6 supercharged yet. They are still very easily had for under 4k

Absolutely love my C5, it's super fun to drive and it's been easy to work on, plus part availability and tons of forum post makes it relatively easy to find solutions to just about any problem you run into on the platform

My dad bought our rx8 in 2004 and they handle amazing comparatively out of the box, the transmission issues on the first gen are real, ours had soooo many issues it was in and out of the car several times because the dealer wouldn’t just replace it.

Current project. 98 integra. My daily project 04 IS300 Soon to be be daily 2012 ISF

Hey that 98 integra is a monster if you do it right!!!

5 months ago I rescued a 95 delsol, just finished redoing all the suspension and reupholstered the interoir and upgraded the steering wheel and shift knob. Just got some konig Heliums and it looks hella good with the lowering springs I got for it.. Yes its a honda. Yes its slow. But my daily is a brz so I don't have a habit of having fast cars lol so it works.

I have been working on a 87 RX-7 I got from my uncle for about 4 months now and I got it to run!! now I gotta get new suspension and tires and get it painted

Me and my son are building his first car. Found you guy after bought I bought every thing. This car is to teach us ins and outs to building a real car. So it's more looks then high power with a focus on safety. The joy of having something that no one is really doing. 2003 mitsubishi eclipse spyder gt manual. I am going to install coil overs, 20 inch rims and tires, cat back, cool air intake, slotted brakes (big brakes would be to aggressive for the level of power it will have), braided lines, body kit, spoiler, hood, headers, professional tune, seats, interior, roll bar, paint and a wrap (I want to learn how to do both. This car is an education so if it doesn't matter if the paint isn't rite as long as it sticks), lsd, stage two clutch, lights, and sound system. Going with a light blue paint. Midnight purple wrap. The car is mail truck white.

The 300GT VR4 was my favorite car back in the day! So much cooler than any exotic at the time. Don't forget the Infinity's of the early 2000's

Just picked up an E46 project and with all the headaches I still drive it more than my daily which is a challenger

I will pick up my own project car sooner or later. I definitely love the thumbnail of this video, it looked cool. Most of these cool cars shown in this video remind me of hot wheels when I was a little kid. No wonder why I like cars so much.

@@gordythecreator Ooooffff ouchhhhh sorry to hear that. I was 19 when my parents gave me and my twin brother our first car to share which is currently a '03 Toyota Camry LE. I will at some point buy my own car with a stick shift after I take stick shift driving courses just so I don't wreck my dream car with a stick shift.

Kid at my auto tech class had a 3000gt vr4 and you have to remove half the engine bay to do any type of work. Had transmission out for 4months

Recently imported a 1996 Lotus Elise with Exige/Motorsport Elise body into Canada as a project car, waiting to import it into the US. RHD, mid-engined, RWD, 1500lbs... has a lot of potential and is definitely unique. Goal is to K swap it on my own and turn it into a track weapon.

2014 w212 E63s....is an amazing project car. Fantastic in every way..

5:12 got one as my first vehicle . It has been extremely reliable, surprisingly practical , and fun

As an rx8 owner I run 18x9.5 and its perfect without losing side wall

I love my 05 E55 AMG, get one while you still can they're starting to get expensive and hard to find. Extremely comfortable, more reliable than you'd think, and are a bit of a sleeper. Its a big 4 door benz and people don't think much of it until you're gaptizing camaros and mustangs left and right.

@@rs3hank they are quite rare here in Washington. Coming from a bmw enthusiast I think the only downside is is giving up the manual transmission, looks and driving experience but hey for nearly 500 horsepower I’m ready to become an AMG boy 😂

Hey there! I'm from Brazil and I just got myself a 2 door 1997 Seat Ibiza (6k). For those who have no Idea what I am talking about it is based on a shorter variant of the mk3 Golf platform and every part comes from VW. This is a very rare car here and most people don't know it shares practically every part under its shell with very common cars around here.. Anyways, my plans for it consists on a 2.5 EA855 swap (stock NA VW's 1.8 EA827), a small turbo and a WRCish body kit.. Wish me luck! You are awesome! :D

Currently an 87 e30 coupe. Was a project car... Now a all out full resto to turn it into an "exotic e30"... If that makes sense? Widebody, fortune auto air coilovers up front to imitate nose lift on exotic cars, bimodal exhaust, v8 swap with twin screw blower, 6 spd, 6 piston brembos, full legit forged carbon interior.... Every bolt is brand new. Going to install motor and trans next week, get it running, and then install blower to limit possibility for hidden issues i could potentially miss

Infiniti G35 sedan. (The 03-06) RWD, a plethora of swap options, can find them everywhere (which makes them alot easier to find parts for, I can go to the junkyard and find about three of them crashed out), they're cheap (literally got mine for $2400) And they're slightly lighter then the coupe counterparts. You can even make them into VIP car. They're the 4 door 350z's when you think about it. 👀

Picked up a 1984 300zx Z31 AE for $1500 and I'm in the process of rebuilding the engine. Waiting to get the news as to whether it needs bored out or not before I order some Wiseco pistons. After I get this one running, on to the Z32 import sitting out the back looking saaaad.

Pontiac GTO 04-06. It's unique, not particularly common, has a solid amount of aftermarket support, and can be anything you want it to be. You can get one in decent shape for $10k.

1st car was a rx8. It surprisingly handled very well for a rear wheel but apex seals blew and the shop owner tried telling me my engine was shot when he ran a cold compression test.

3000gt SL's are super reliable. It was my first car.

But the BRZ needs to be paid off/finished first. 😅 Probes have a huge following in Europe/Russia by the way. RX-8? One day! RIP to that coffee, gone too soon

The best part of an rx-8 is that it has some of the best steering and handeling of any car, you can do your basic intake, exhause, rad, oil cooler and get all the fun noises and make it reliable. BUT, the cost to make it high horsepower is so much that you would be stupid to do it. Make it so you cant get yourself in trouble as those are the expensive things that blow motors and get you speeding ticket. Also it will improve the driver on the track.

Just picked up a 1992 SC400 and it’s a great car. I got a good price and the car is in really good condition. It is how ever an old car and many of the plastic pieces are broke af😅

Don’t listen to what anyone says, I think the 400’s (LS, GS, SC) are much better than the 300’s. That 1UZ-FE is no joke. My old GS400 that I used to have had 300hp from the same motor.

I've had a C5 FRC for 12 years now. Makes 950rwhp out of a new Darton sleeved 427. It's been the best platform I've ever modded and they're dirt cheap. Still looks sexy as fuck and gets a lot of attention. Best Corvette for the money.
