As somebody who was 8 when DOOM came out, I bet it would have made things even worse back then. Shit like OG Mortal Kombat and DOOM didn't seem as tame back then, but what I notice now in hindsight, is that during the 90s, horror was a bit more basic, in the idea it was scary enough to show a scary image, show a scary moment, peoples expectations weren't so high that you had to go extreme yet, because it was already "extreme" But then you arrive at the 2000s and all of a sudden, horror adopts more realism while giving it more of a graphic presentation. Think movies like saw and hostel. Now it wasn't just killing me, now it was torturing people, now it was about the small yet gruesome details. So yeah, people would have seen this DOOM back then, and if it wasn't out right banned, it would have been one of those NC-17 things back then. Hard to find, gotta go behind the black curtain in the video store type shit.

There was a line in "On Deadly Ground" Where R. Lee Ermey's character tells Steven Seagal "I'm going to shove this shotgun up your ass and blow the top of your fucking head off." That seems to describe what has happened in this glory kill. :)

Doomer here, I've played PB3 with project Malice and recommend it, despite the difficulty of Malice monsters, PB weapons are pretty powerful and nearly balance it, a great experience on some maps.

You may think these glory kills are too goresome or not subtle comparing them with eternal or 2016, but lore-wise this Is absolutely on point given the fact doomguy was pure Berserk rage before being found by the sentinels. After being trained by them he learned how to effectively control this power

in PB lore, they’re actually the result of Arch-vines getting resurrected. it creates this abomination. in fact, even the guy who wrote the texts about the Flesh Wizard was as terrified as the UAC researchers

Hi guys, noob question - What can I do to make my Doom look like this? I mean textures quality, lightning, overall sharpness etc... Is Project Brutality and GzDoom enough for that? Because I'm using GzDoom for playing, mostly with Brutal Doom and whatever I do with settings it doesn't look anything even close to this.

If I remember correctly theres also a second fatality on the phasic knight after the first one you showed here where you remove his second arm too. I don't think it works with the glory kill addon though, only with berserk fatality.

They work randomly - sometimes you can have the same fatality few times in row.

Yeah I just did some tests here and it happens after you do the fatality where you remove his arm. He'll go in his dying state and then you punch him again with berserk a few times and you'll do another fatality and remove his other arm.

Hi, I am using PB Staging but the enemies don't get staggered and glowing for me to execute the glory kill. I can only execute them while they have a small red square box around them. Is something wrong in my settings?

For anybody wondering, this video is outdated now. The glory kills in Project Brutality are now first person like Doom 2016 and Eternal.

@goldenage2530 All I know is I have modd but I'm not allowed to give it here. I think it got taken down because they only want people to have crumbs of what the PB team have made. I know they are toxic about it and don't like people touching their old mods for some reason then I suppose. New PB nowadays feels incomplete without this addon, I get they wanted to achieve something like Doom eternal but you can't just leave great mods in the past, other people may want to try it differently so it's a bit unfair. As for the Brutal repository I'm not so sure. My guess is either they got hacked or they were gathering assets they shouldn't so they got taken down. Mystery but there are servers which do have addons but again, I can't guide you where here.

Thats the alternate fire mode for the UAC Heavy Machine gun. It turns into the nail gun used by the lionheaded knights with shields.
