What do you recommend using to clean the chrome surface of the machine to keep it looking nice and new?

Hi. Great video! I have a doubt about the orange ring? In my machine the orange ring its not behind the rubber gasket , but in after. Whats the right position? Thanks

Hi Luisa, The orange o-ring and black group head gasket are placed independently of each other, with the orange o-ring being at about the same height but within the group head gasket. Your arrangement is probably correct, as one cannot be in front of or behind the other. Hope that helps!

thanks for the video was very helpful in making my first cleaning of the machine, next day though I noticed that i have water coming out on top of the portafilter, how tight should the dispersion plate/head be screwed? thanks for your help

Hey there! That should be a simple fix! Typically if you see leaking coming from the rim of the portafilter that indicates that the seal is not seated properly. I'd recommend either replacing the group head gasket or try to resit the gasket back in place. -Amanda

@@clivecoffee I'm having the same problem with my new gasket and screen install. I'm guessing the screw into the dispersion plate/screen needs to be fairly tight? I just put mine back in at say, medium tight as he does in the video and quite a bit of water sprays out.

    Can I descale the boilers?

While you can descale the boilers of the Pro 300 much like you would with other espresso machines, we always recommend using properly filtered and softened water so that you can avoid getting scale buildup at all. By doing this, your machine can easily go its entire lifetime without scale buildup, and you can avoid descaling which is in itself harmful to the boilers and fittings. With detergent, if you're making coffee every day, every few weeks. Really depends on how much you're making coffee.
