Fossil hunting along the Jurassic Coast got me this fossil find at low tide! I spotted this Ichthyosaur back bone in a rock pool, along the beach after stormy weather! Ichthyosaurs are named "sea dragons" because of their teeth and large eyes. Please beware of the dangerous cliffs that are liable to fall suddenly and without warning. Stay away from the dangerous cliffs along the Jurassic Coast. There is a fossil collecting code of conduct in operation along the Jurassic Coast. Lol, love the joke from a young mind at the end. What's your recommendation on footwear please Brandon? I notice you're not in wellington and strolling boldly through the surf, so I'm wondering if there are non-slip, salt-resistant products out there ?

The wellington boots 🥾 are always good with the grips they have. I do find them the business as the Winter wears on. I was out on a very warm day in the storms, and along with the walking stick the trainers with good /big grips were ok .

@@LymeRegisFossils Thanks. I've noticed some people wear leather hiking boots, which I guess is good for the ankle protection, but a bit pricey of dipping in the salt water ! I think I'll be putting a good pair of wellingtons on the Christmas list ☺

That’s a very good point, once you get salt water into good walking shoes then it’s the “slow undoing”. of them. Salt water really isn’t good for your leather walking shoes as I’ve found out. Obviously at home I soak my outdoor equipment in freshwater, to get (leach) the salt out! I find a good pair of Wellington boots with leggings tucked over the top of them and well made walking socks 🧦 a good system to have !
