Product Review: Kindling Cracker

Ғылым және технология

Just a quick review of a product I purchased for safety reasons. It is the Kindling Cracker. I purchased this product. I didn't receive it from a channel sponsor or anything.

Interesting video. I think I may put this on my Christmas list. To your point about splitting wood with a hatchet, I use a small piece of what I have already split to hold the log while starting the cut so when I miss, I hit that instead of my finger or hand which I have to admit I have done in the past. Great video, thanks.

Cut off the base between the new holes then bolt it to your stump stand (or at least mark the stump where it will mount). Finally cut two triangular wedges out of the stump stand to the inside of the openings of the base. These wedge openings give the split pieces a place to go. Putting collector baskets on either side isn't a bad idea either. EDIT: On your recent (Wranglerstar) video 'Finally a safe way to split firewood' you said you didn't want to mount the splitter so it can still be portable. After making the above modifications, open up two opposite hold down holes so you can twist to lock/unlock the unit from your stump stand into near tight bolts and instead of bolts for the other two holes just use drop down pins.

I like that thing. I also smashed my finger pretty good with a hatchet making kindling. Fortunately, I always wear gloves.

John, nice review, I have seen these in some catalogs but never gave them a second thought. Over the years I have assembled a wonderful array of cutting things of making big wood into small and then making it into smaller wood, and splitting that small wood is the most dangerous. For some reason owning a wood burning stove should not include blood and missing figures. My question to you is "Can you improve on this and make it better?"

Unsure if I can improve upon it.... it is a pretty simple design. I don't know what you mean by "back it better" though. Can you elaborate?
