It's actually "teen crush" kind of a combination between girlcrush and cute. They act all cool and girl crush but are actually clumsy and cute. That's what they were going for, it's confusing in the beginning, but once you realise what the concept really is, its quite entertaining and unique. Actually, their whole album concept is like this. The name is Kiss Kicks. Kiss for the cute side, kicks for the girl crush/badass side. The pictures in the kiss album version are also way cuter than the pictures in the kicks version.

They legit perform bad ass and girl crush comfortably and well. Them trying to hard to hard to be cute would be cringy. TBH I believe Weki Meki could pull off a bad ass concept (from the teaser) if they tried really hard but this teen crush idea is so unique! Im here for it. But doing different concepts isnt fake all of our favs for the most part have tested water and done different stuff to be interesting nothing fake about it.

The best title track from Weki Meki so far in my opionion! I’m glad they reacted to this bop!

I think the point of the MV is, that the girls want to put out a badass image (as many girl groups nowadays), but that's just not who they are. So, they are okay with being their own, ditzy selves, and that's what frees them in the end. Also, the structure of the song does a lot of similar things as BP's AIIYL, and for that group, it was BP's attempt of doing the cutesy stuff. It's interesting to contrast them, in that context.

Weki Meki's concept is "Teen Crush" which is literally what you commented on as far as song sound vs MV feel. Teen Crush is meant to be an in between between Girl Crush and Cute by design. The change in tone between the verses and the chorus is meant to highlight that, as is the start of the MV, where they look all bad ass and finish cute and fun. The intended flavor of the MV is intended to be the bad-ass girls that cant be bad-ass and still end up cute. But anyways, thats the entire point of their concept. Its different and its what sets Weki Meki apart from the other thousand cute and girl crush groups, and its something I enjoy about them.

The wall isn't accurate at all. Doyeon's like 5'8.

Yuju the Golden member - ikr, yoojung is the smallest and she is 5ft2 and they were allllll under 5ft on the chart

For me, Weki Meki excels the most at this point in their career is their b-side tracks. Iron Boy, Color Me, Metronome, and Neverland area all bops. This comeback does excel in giving Weki Meki a sold title track.

I don't know if I would call it messed up or comically produced to fit with the theme of the song. I love this song too :) , it's very similar to Chungha's rollercoaster in some ways.

once you realize their concept is teen crush (silly and dorky w a side of sexy) the video makes more sense, i really like them for their concept ever since i don't like your girlfriend, it's a pretty unique mix imo

chorus sounds so much like rollercoaster, even the "jakku" before the breakdown.

If you pay attention to the MV, in the beginning they are badass and cool but later on they become clumsy (Elly and Lucy breaking the car, Rina cutting herself with the ninja star). Those parts really changed the whole concept for me. I thought this was a girl crush concept but it's more teen crush. They act cool but are still cute and clumsy.

I love that the concept is basically "criminals who suck at crime." 😁

Yeah, the whole ending seemed unclear... Doyeon accidentally fires her gun, but why then are they holding their guns and searching? They had already been making a hella lotta noise with everything else in there. Who could possibly be coming for them? And Doyeon bumps her arm against the switch setting off something, but is it an alarm? Seems a strange place for that. The criminal lineup seemed an afterthought and it was a distraction after such a good song.

All through the MV all I could think was: Someone teach these girls some gun safety! Fingers off the trigger ladies! And then Doyeon goes and accidentally fires her gun: I told you so!
