Problems With The Green Knight

It's a beautiful, very stylish work of cinema. But does its substance (or lack thereof) really warrant all the high praise?

    This movie was so bad. The character motives were thin and made so little sense… The Green Knight told him that if Gawain can land a blow, he will get the same blow returned to him later… Why would he then cut his head off? He could have simply wounded the Knight, won the challenge, and survive the return blow later… This whole plot makes no sense whatsoever.
