Swordheart is such good vibes! I just read it for Judith’s Year of Kingfisher readalong and loved it so much!
Yeeees Swordheart and You Made a Fool of Death are sooooo good, I think you will love them! And those ARCs all sound super good, can't wait to hear your thoughts. Happy reading 🥰
Just finished Barrayar and loved it! Now I need to catch up to where you’re at - I fear I’m going to miss Cordelia’s poignant POV but that epilogue has me thinking it’s gonna be a blast to be with a young Miles!
Just finished Too Like the Lightning. Wow! Never read anything like it and absolutely loved it. Debating on jumping straight into Seven Surrenders or immediately re-reading book 1.
🏡 I am reading The Way of Kings because when I am in a slump Sanderson always makes me feel better.
Ooooh I also have the west passage and have been thinking about picking it up this month. Twins 🤣🤣
Love You Made a Fool of Death with Your Beauty it is very messy but I just loved it more for it. Hope you enjoy❤️
I love Swordheart. It was my first T. Kingfisher book.

@@LiteratureScienceAlliance yes, the Saints of Steel books great too. Maybe even better 😜. So for you the best is yet to come 😁
Looking forward to the Octavia E. Butler content! I know whoat you mean by some British novels sounding odd. I had the same issue, but with Stephen King. So most of his works I had to read in translation. I am hoping to return to him one day. The sexism from "The Gunslinger" (DNF) whas what put me off...
Looking forward to Swordheart at some point. I am reading Paladins series. Maybe I am out of order?! I’m also reading Assassjns Quest. Happy reading.
I hope you enjoy Swordheart! 🏡

Me too!!
Swordheart is so cute. Perfect cozy T. Kingfisher. I'm excited to go to Paladin's Grace. Hoping to get to the Octavia Butler shirt stories this month.
Im very excited to continue Terra Ignota when my mental health lets me focus on complicated things. Currently I want fluff or Non-fic. Can't believe I'll be able to buddy read a Vorkosigan book with everyone ! Like Im so happy how quickly I've powered through the series.
I would never say there are too many awesome bookstores in Boston (even as another one just opened), but they do all have an incredible ability to get me to spend too much😅🏡

Brookline Booksmith was just so much fun to browse. 4-5 floor to ceiling sff shelves with unique books from large and small publishers. I miss it so much!
Listen... I film almost weekly and I forget what I'm doing every time.
I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on Fledgling. I read it this year and found it interesting, if incredibly complicated. 🏡
🏠🏡🏚I read Lost Ark Dreaming this month and really enjoyed it. The Deep comparison is there because there are creatures similar to creatures in The Deep that are present and affect the plot and themes. I think you will enjoy it! For June, I am hoping to catch up on some of my ARCs and start rereading the Greenbone Saga. Also, I want to read some literary fiction more than usual, so let's see if I get through those books alongside rereading Jade City.
It was the third book by Ada Palmer that got my attention. Love hearing you say that is that good! Once I have finished current reads I will pick it up. I got this feeling nobody reads book series back to back here on booktube so I am very pleased that your updates on the book don't take long.

Yea I typically don't like to go more than a month or two before continuing a series I am invested in! Just how my personality works
I'm starting off the month not knowing what I want to read either. The mood reader struggle!
🏠🏠🏠I hope your own home starts cooperating!

It honestly treats me VERY well, my anxiety just likes to fix everything all the time, even when some of the things can wait. Although some of the surprises were a bit essential lol
Currently reading Parable of the Talents and struggling w the content. It’s one of those books I had to look up spoilers for so I kinda know what to expect while reading 😅

Totally fair! It was a stressful time
Excited for your thoughts on Fledgling in particular and Octavia Butler in general. I’ve only read Kindred and Fledgling but someone told me that Parables starts in July of this year so that’s when I’m going to read them.

If you end up getting to it before you you will have to let me know your thoughts!!
I loved Swordheart... until the third act conflict greatly soured my enjoyment of the book. The characters were great (the priest of Rat was easily my favorite character ✨), the banter was great (as usual for T. Kingfisher), and I enjoyed the audiobook as well. Throughout most of the book I thought it was going to become my wintery reread every so often (it's a very wintery book), but then that stupid third act conflict had to happen 😒 Also, I laughed when you described your house as child throwing a temper tantrum 😆

Hmmm I think I agree with you about the 3rd act conflict.

The house has OPINIONS sometimes lol
what are some recs for fantasy reading for the summer time? I'm looking for a page turner that just a good time and fun to read. I like action, with interesting character development and plot but nothing too dark in tone. Anything coming to mind (sorry I know that's pretty vague).
Swordheart is my fave Kingfisher. Fledgling is the only Butler I couldn't get through, so I'm curious to hear your thoughts. I think I know what Butler was attempting and I usually trust her, but... the premise really squicked me out.

Having read Clay's Ark I am not sure she can gross me out any more than she did in that book, but we shall see! She does love playing with uncomfortable premises
I thought Fledgling was terrible so I'm curious to hear your thoughts
So excited to see what you think of you made a fool of death… it’s so good. 🏡
Lol moving mulch is just such a boring zen experience 🏠 This old house is your friend! #HomeownerProblems Not stoked for leather and lark though?

@@LiteratureScienceAlliance Sarah said the first one made her realize maybe she'd enjoy more thriller or horror books I immediately named the horror ones you'd listed recently
What is the name of the series you are reading by Bujold? Have you read the Paladin series by T Kingfisher? They are set in the same clockwork world.
@LiteratureScienceAlliance

The Bujold series is called the Vorkosigan Saga. I have been reading the world of the white rat books in order so haven't gotten to the Paladin series yet. I think that is after swordheart
