☀️🌜 sending you healing and uplifting vibes.
The audiobook Project Hail Mary read by Ray Porter and Murderbot Diaries read by Kevin R Free have been comfort listens for me lately. Both narrators did amazing jobs. Hope you feel better--mentally and physically--soon. 🌞🌛💙

NEVER listen to any negative people! You seem like a wonderful person! I have no doubt we'd be friends. Be authentic! GOOD people appreciate THAT!
The Seventh Bride is great. Dark yet her same quirkiness. I think you’ll catch on to the fairytale retelling part.
Boo for life lifeing and making it hard to read all the things you’d like to. Hopefully things settle down soon friend!
I feel you - my body has also been putting me THROUGH IT these last 6 months…. Honestly when I need comfort reads, I’m going back to fanfic. I’ll still read my books but less frequently/more slowly and more genre fiction than litfic (mostly scifi). So yeah, fanfic consumption goes way up (aka the last month especially) 😅 ☀️
I have interrupted my re-read of Nisi Shawl's Everfair twicc now for bookclub books. I really do want to finish it so I can get to the sequel, Kinning, which came our earlier this year.
When I'm feeling anxious or low mood I like to reread books because I know how the story goes and there won't be any upsetting surprises. Even if those books aren't necessarily happy all the way through. Also I think I go for shorter/quicker reads so I get the 'I finished a book' accomplishment dopamine hit. I hope you feel better soon! 🎑
When I feel just adrift, I fall aggressively back into rereading patterns (hence Hexarchate series) and maybe some nonfiction to break things up. And not reading books too long, which means shorter books to give me a fake sense of accomplishment. Anything to make me feel productive.

I’m sorry you’re going through it! I hope things resolve themselves for you soon. When I am going through it, I like to read middle grade books that are easy to read and escapist in nature, and I also like to reread favorite books that I know are cozy or meet the feeling I need at the time

I feel you on the comfort reads. I am in the same place this month and feel like all my ambitious reading plans for the year should just be destroyed. I mean I know I can go back later and pick it all back up, but right now that sounds hard and I'm not sure if my head will get back to that place before the end of the year. I have to remind myself it is not all or nothing in life. I hope your physical and emotional ailments get figured out soon. I have been in that place too not that long ago.

I’m sorry you’re having such a crap time right now. I’m wishing you well and hope you can incorporate a few things to bring you joy. The Cleveland Botanical Gardens, Mentor Headlands, or a waterfall hike in the Metro Parks are places that help center me when I’m feeling uncertain. The books I turn to when I need to lift my mood are usually romance books. In addition to Abby Jimenez and Emily Henry, some of my recent delights have been Role Playing by Cathy Yardley which has older characters who play video games, The Fake Out by Sharon Peterson, and Radiance by Grace Draven which is a smart romantasy with a wonderful romance I could really root for.
if you haven't read the Woods All Black yet and is one of the novellas you're talking about I think it was more revenge plot than anything. I got through it really quick when I wasn't feeling like reading much.
I am currently reading Seven Days in June and it's definitely a romance. Sending hugs and positive vibes to you. Take care.
Really sorry you're feeling so crappy at the moment. If you do end up jumping into Rhythm of War and want to buddy read it, let me know! It's next up on my Sanderson re-reads too. Oh also, the third book is now out for The Devoured Worlds Series by Megan E. O'Keefe (author of Velocity Weapon). So if you wanted some good sci-fi, it's the perfect time to pick that series up! I loved books one and two, so I'm really excited for the finale.
Paladin's Grace/ saint of steel is one of my favorite things ever. I hope you really enjoy it!
🌙
Murderbot or anything Becky Chambers usually soothes my anxious soul. Hoping for easier days ahead… 🌕
i always go back to comfort reads whenever i'm feeling sad / adrift / anxious. rook & rose has given me lots of comfort that way! hope you feel better soon ☀🌙
I hope you feel better soon & pick up a book that envelopes you in better feelings! ): 🤎🤎 I LOVE Seven Days in June & A Love Song for Ricki Wilde, Tia Williams really sucks you into her stories imo, so maybe perfect!!

I hope you get the help you need from the doctors and I hope you feel better soon!! ❤

Hope you feel better soon! When I'm low on focus I tend to gravitate to Anthology's so I can flick through and skip anything that doesn't immediately appeal. I'm currently reading the Escape Pod anthology edited by Mur Lafferty and S.B. Divya. I've heard you recommend the N.K. Jemison short story it contains (Give me cornbread or give me death) before on your channel so looking forward to it.
🌞🌞🌅 Hope you feel better soon! Glad you are enjoying your re-read of Oathbringer, I am looking forward to seeing the live show! In regards to what I read for comfort, I would say definitely Star Wars Legends books. I also find space opera books to be comforting, as well as middle grade (such as Percy Jackson or Amari).
Sending all the hugs and positive vibes to you, I really hope things will start looking up soon!! 💖 Can't wait to hear your thoughts on The Seventh Bride and Seven Days in June. And enjoy the final bit of your Oathbringer reread 🥰
I consider Seven Days in June to be a love story- which is different to me. Just because it isn’t light and fluffy and the writing style leans towards literary fiction. Also,I hope you feel better soon!
Cozy mysteries (whcih take no brain power but usually have some kind of happy ending and likable characters), reread childhood/teenage favorites especially on audio, and sometimes something quick like a thriller. Mostly it’s about the only time I watch tv anymore. Will rewatch some show I’ve seen 3+ times through even though there are like 12+ seasons. Often depressing or dark 🤣 like criminal minds, grey’s anatomy, bones, supernatural. Lol 🌝
Thank you for letting us in and for sharing your reading with us. Hope you feel better soon! Treat yourself well and take care! God bless you 🙌🏼
Hi, I'm sorry you feel like this and I hope it will pass soon and everything will be alright. My comfort book in unknown times is The Martian by Andy Weir, and lately it's also Kingfisher's Paladins.
☀🌔
When im in the mood you describe I usually lean on music favorites. Artists I like singing along with.
🌙
☀️🌙
🌓🌓🌓 When I feel the need for a comfort read, I usually go for a reread - usually Jane Austen, Georgette Heyer or Agatha Christie. I have had seasons where I am simply binge reading their books. I also have a shelf of recent reads that I want to read again that I can turn to. I hope you get relief soon for your physical and mental health.
Bring the joy! ☀️🌕
Seven Days in June by Tia Williams is one of my favourite romance books, I thought it was beautifully written 💙
The Swordheart breakup made no sense to me lol. Like why did she care so much about that issue?! 😅 Also even though I loved Swordheart, the Paladin books are much stronger in my opinion.
🌙
🌞Sorry you're feeling anxious. i hope you feel better soon 🫂🫂 When i have a bad mental health it's usually either rereading childhood favorites or reading YA dystopians because that era was right when i was a teenager, so it feels very nostalgic
🌞🌙
I hope things get better for you soon! ❤❤❤
Terry Pratchett always works for me. 🤗🌝🌞🎶 🌻🐝🐞con mucho amor🤗
