'The Audiophile Entry-level Turntable' - Pro-Ject Essential III - A modern classic!
Essential III offers a variety of enhancements compared to its successful predecessors, such as a diamond-cut aluminium drive pulley, a resonance-optimized MDF main platter, and MDF chassis.
The refined, high-precision platter bearing has significantly lower tolerances than Essential II. Essential III is equipped with an 8,6” aluminium tonearm with the high-quality pickup OM10 by the phonographic cartridge pioneer Ortofon.
The included Phono RCA cable, Connect it E, is a high-quality semi-balanced interconnect cable with gold-plated RCA connectors that guarantee the perfect connection.
Also, the special decoupling feet isolate the turntable from the surface it is placed on to deliver the best sound possible.

Glad you found this video useful!
Heinz, your videos are one of the best. I wonder if you could do one on how to use the plastic Project pivot action protractor? No one seems to know about this thing. My turntable (T1 phono) came with a paper one and a plastic one, the plastic one also functions as a weight gauge using a see saw action, but i don't know how to use it.
Just balanced my tone arm on my brand-new essential.... dude. Physics and stuff.

Cant enjoy records without math!
I’ve just got a Pro-Ject Essential turntable but I’m finding that dirt is causing distortion on many records I play. I clean the records with a brush and they start fine, but after a track or two the distortion starts and I have to clean the record and stylus again. This is with brand new and old records. Should I increase the tracking force of the OM10 to 1.75g? Would that help? Thanks.

Sounds like your records might need a more thorough wash, perhaps with something like a Record Spin Clean.
So I'm not sure if I understood correctly. Does the essential 3 can let us choose between phono and line (with a pre-built preamp) ?

The stock Essential III model does not let you choose between phone and line out, but the Essential III Phono does.

There is a switch on the bottom that will allow you to swap between the internal phonostage and an external one. :)
Why don't you offer it in walnut in the US?

You would have to ask Pro-Ject themselves, we are just an Australian Hi-Fi retailer. :)
Can you upgrade the stylus on the Essential III?

Ven it's made in Austria.
the veneering on the T1 looks IKEA like cheap... it is much better on the essential

There had to be compromises to bring that level of audio quality out at such a low price point. We think sacrificing the veneering was the right call in the end.
What a disappointment. I just bought the Essential III base model with integrated RCA cabel. Mr. Lichtenegger seems to have introduced cost-cutting measures: no more premium "Connect it E" RCA cable, the USP of that model, but a mere 50 cent wire. And I was under the impression that Pro-Ject deliveres value for the money ... what a disappointment.
