amazing design! however, it seems like in the render they made the room at least 2 meters wider than it really is, I would love to see a version with the actual measures.

Usually, renders are using a wide angle view just like using a wide angle lens in photographing spaces. This makes the space much larger than it is but if you look closely at the details most especially on those areas closer to the edges, everything is being stretched.

If you freeze the video at 0:27, you can see the couple already has a USM console. It's not insanely expensive, but it's an investment/classic piece of furniture, so it's reasonable for Darren to recommend modular seating. (edit: added time code)

This is so beautiful. I wish I could have a space like that. I’m an artist and recently moved into a very small apartment. I don’t have any furniture in the living room except for an art table. My living room has to serve as my studio but I would still like it to be inviting and comfortable for guests. I paint on very large canvases and I sculpt with large rocks and cement. I’ve been searching for a a studio/living room design inspiration for a very long time, years in fact but I haven’t found anything that is actually doable for me. If I had thousands to spend, of course I could easily make it amazing but I don’t have much money. I’m hoping to find pieces at a thrift store I can transform. I doubt you’ll see this comment and decide to help but I’m living my dream as a full time artist, so I might as well dream all the way. I’ve been watching you design spaces on this channel and you are by far my favorite designer.

This space will be the kitchen and living room area but I need help designing and organizing it around the ugly columns! Can you help? Hey Darren! My husband and I are big big fans :) and would love your help. We rent one floor of a Brownstone in Bed-Stuy. Our living room is a hybrid dining area / TV room / library / foyer 🥵 it's...a lot. The entrance is abrupt, guests always look a little flustered when they arrive. We host a lot but definitely don't have enough seating. And we love to display our records and books but are running out of room for them. Help! Can send pics.

Blocky low-slung furniture looks hard and uncomfortable. No back support. They certainly are not going to be inviting older people. I agree with other comments: this looks like a cold hotel lobby, with temporary seating while you're waiting to pick up your key... There is nothing comfortable or inviting about this space.

Do you realize that you have reinvented the Middle Eastern Maji? Do yourself a favor and look up "Maji" and Turkish "sofa köşesi" or "köşe koltuğu." Also, look at Spiro's Zakas's book "Life space" if you haven't heard of him already.

I love this guy's designs, but in this case It's too 70's for me, there's also some sort of art Deco vibe that I would avoid. Perhaps if the color of the sofas changed it wouldn't look so vintage, Even when that was his intention though.

This much more “human” than all those crazy weird things he created in the other videos… But again… it’s cold. The Japanese touches were interesting but the sofas, the table, the lights, the huge vases… no! Modern and less taste!

He cheated and made the room four feet wider than it is. If you compare the size of the walls that flank the windows, they are about 2 feet wider on each side. That's why the room feels more spacious.

I like this except that those sofa are just way too big, too far apart, no chance to rest the back while sitting...maybe a little less bigger sofa and a little closer together so there is no need to yell while talking haahaa...and finally, maybe a little lighter color and not green for me
